Glad to hear! My dad had just started at the military academy there and when the Germans blitzkrieged they basically told them to leave and try to get home. He was caught my the Germans and after a few years in a camp with many nationalities he was sent to the heart of germany to work on a farm as they needed farm labor. No guards, they just to him if he was ever caught off the farm he would be shot on sight so he stayed there until liberated my the Americans. Worked for them for several years as an interpreter helping relocate people, then that gave him the chance to immigrate here. Good story.
