Wtf dude..we thought bad things happened to you

Nah, I'm fine Al...I just decided to experiment by taking a year off, and a year ago today was my last post. I'd stop by and browse the forum every now and then, but just didn't log in or post. FWIW, my "experiment" (which I'll keep to myself) for the most part, pretty much confirmed what I suspected.

As far as the Yanx go, they've been a fun team to watch at times, even with all of the injuries. But I've never felt they were "built for the post season" and though they have kicked the shit out of Minnesota so far, I don't like their chances vs Houston if it goes that far...but I obviously hope I'm wrong.

No doubt, I can't recall a 1-3 SP Staff as terrifying to face as Verlander, Cole and Greinke.

With the Yankees offensive lineup being as good as I can recall, it's going 2b interesting to say the least...

If indeed, (and I don't doubt it), "good pitching trumps good hitting," (pardon the pun), then the Yanks are in for a battle.

Good, nah, Great too have you back Ron !!

I feared had deposited you on the DSOTM.

Hey Matts, and thanx. Hurricane Michael did in fact go directly over us...50 mph winds with gusts up to 80 MPH. We were without our normal power supply for 4-5 days...luckily I bought a very nice generator a few years back...I wired it to our breaker box and were able to run pretty much everything except the central heat and air. We lost probably 6-8 mature pines and broken limbs were everywhere.

And being deposited on the DSOTM would not have been such a bad thing...after all, I was born there. :bgrin:

IMO, Houston's offense is better balanced than the Yanx, starting pitching is also better, and Houston's defense is also better. But you just never know what might happen. In '96 I seem to recall the Yanx getting blown out at home in the first 2 games of the WS, then went to Atlanta and beat 3 future HOFers 3 games in a row. Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz...and then Avery in game 6.

Yep, exactly the Big 3 + 1, who came to mind.
