28 and has injury issues but his game should last him into his mid 30s as a decent contributor.

Unfortunate. It would cost way top much to trade for him now, but we had the money to sign him...sign him. Go after after Brook lopez to put next to him and bring plums off the bench with Crabbe and Harkless and Davis?

That would do some damage I think...

I think what we need is a center, a young Marc Gasol. Somebody who is really big, tough, good defender, but has some offensive moves and a good mid-range shot. Neither Plumlee nor Davis are really big enough for some of the players they go against. I think Davis might be better as a power forward. Vonleh is not big enough either. It's possible that Olshey was hoping Leonard could be that kind of player but that hasn't worked out. I looked through all the free agents, couldn't find anyone close. Is there anyone international or anyone off the radar who might develop quickly like Whiteside?

I could agree with this...

Rasta... step up man!!!

I think Al Horford would be a great signing...at least in the short term. His age is an issue, as you never quite know how well a guy will play into his 30s. He doesn't seem to have hit his decline yet though. Maybe a max 3 year contract?

Horford is not a back-to-the-basket type PF/C. He's a duplicate of MPlumlee.

We need a third scorer. Love is water under the bridge, time has expired on that signing. We don't have assets to trade for him now.

What about signing RAnderson and trading for Faried from Nuggets as rebounding monster SF?? He might be available for little return or picks.
Lillard - McCollum - Faried - Anderson - Plumlee?? A bit soft on D, but we'd score like GSW on the other end.

I think it's crucial that this team acquires another scoring threat this offseason, most likely a low post banger. Whether that's through the draft or with FA I don't know. I would bet that Olshey already had his plans ready. The Blazers have to "win" this offseason. And I don't mean in a Charlie Sheen kind of way.

Not quite a Mason Plumlee duplicate. He has a nice jump shot for a PF, but he's also a top notch finisher inside, unlike your run of the mill soft stretch 4.

I think Crabbe is a talented 3rd scorer, but just not inside. Ryan Anderson....he's a good spot up shooter, but I"m tired of soft shooting PFs. WE have Dame CJ and Crabbe, we need a big that's an offensive threat.

That's probably what Neil had in mind when he went after Kanter. There's a rumor that OKC would like to trade Kanter and get rid of his contract. Though I hate no defense centers as well.

No to Kanter, but I agree with you on what you think NO is looking for.

If only we could pry Okafor from Philly... Ugh low post scorers are so hard to find :/

Due to GS said money no option to sign there players so Barnes properly off the table.
How are they going to pay Steph, Klay, Draymond, and Barnes. There's even some who think they will offer Durant a max this offseason. I hope they do because it would blow up in there face and I would love to have Barnes. However honestly it's not that big of a deal as I feel like Crabbe can give you a lot of what Barnes would give you.

Fuck yes to Big Al. His play style says sustain not decline.

Everything is leading me back to Cousins. I don't want a Ryan Anderson or an aging Horford.

I'm pretty sure the Heat will consider a Plumlee for Whiteside trade, i don't see them giving him the max.

Really questioning the idea that Aminu is smart on defense. He is constantly lost on picks and sometimes just forgets his man, and switches randomly. He doesn't use his physical gifts as much as he should
He's not at all smart on defense - he relies entirely on his length, and people like him because he gives the appearance of effort which is all that matters to a lot of people. But he's often lost and causing horrible switches - Dame onto PP for instance!

Damn right--Dame can't check me!

How many times does it need to be said, the Blazers "strategically" (I say this cause I think it's stupid) switch on all side pick and rolls. Aminu is told to do it. Harkless is told to do it. Crabbe is told to do it. Davis is told to do it. Leonard is told to do it. etc. etc.

The crazy switches like Dirk on Lillard are not the players fault. Aminu has his issues but this is a stupid criticism.

If that's indeed true then it's another bullet point for why Stotts sucks.
Either way, both Aminu and Stotts are weak links.
