Truth comes out:

How a 'rogue' employee forced NFL, Goodell into new Black Lives Matter stance

The NFL’s public shift on the Black Lives Matter movement, which led to a Friday video from commissioner Roger Goodell condemning racism and admitting wrongdoing, started with an Instagram DM.

“Hey Mike,” it began.
Bryndon Minter wasn’t sure Saints receiver Michael Thomas would even read the message. He knew it could get him fired. He continued anyway.

“Want to help you create content to be heard around the league,” Minter wrote. “I’m a NFL social employee and am embarrassed by how the league has been silent this week. The NFL hasn’t condemned racism. The NFL hasn’t said that Black Lives Matter.

“I want [to] help you put the pressure on. And arm you with a video that expresses YOUR voice and [what] you want from the League. Give me a holler if you’re interested in working together, thanks bro!”

Within 15 minutes, Thomas wrote back. Twenty-four hours later, he and other prominent black NFL players published a powerful video. Within another 24 hours, tens of millions of people watched it – and it had changed the league’s relationship with social injustice for good.

You seem a bit down on him.
nah, just stating facts.

honestly, though, i've never been a fan of him. way overhyped his whole career. course i cant stand the 49ers, so there's that.

I hope he gets a chance to play in the NFL again.
So I can be proven correct that he's not a starting caliber QB in the NFL anymore.
That he's very similar to Jason Campbell right now.

If he was good enough to be on a team. He'd be on a team.
Said the same things about Tim Tebow.
No difference between the two in terms of media circus they bring.

Had to throw Tim Tebow in there because otherwise I could be considered racist with this comment......................

You know what's messed up about that though.....if he DID return to a team, it would solidify the suspicions that he was not in the league all this time simply for taking a knee.
that's no suspicion-- that's fact

So the NFL is finally saying it gets what Kaepernick was trying to communicate all along. But will Corporate America get the message? They were the ones , besides you know who, who were putting pressure on the teams to correct the situation, or lose the almighty sponsorship. Because we really know it all comes down to the mean green. I hope the message IS genuine, and REAL change happens. We will see. I want to see an America that truly is the "Land of the Free".

Your comment could sound to some like corporate America is some racist group of a few eliteist people....

Corporate America pressured the NFL because NFL fans were put off by it. If fans and society change what they want corporate America will follow. Corporate America just wants consumer to buy shit: they have no agenda, they are neither inherently good nor bad.

We will see. I'm a veteren, and i had no problem with Kap's way of getting his point accross. THIS IS AMERICA, right? So when it happen's again, kneeling, there's a good chance the people who were offended by it the first time, are STILL going to be offended. Even if many have been enlightened, there still are too many who don't care. I have a feeling they will be on the phones to those companies again.
