I'm not hip at all and I still don't like baseball. And I've actually tried to get into it more than once.

I don't mind people not liking the sport. Hell they can secretly fume in the rafters and destroy Louisville Sluggers. But I hate the constant gang tackling from critics every stinking year about out how out of touch the sport is.... so that even the stars feel they have to justify their insecurities. A culture of criticism (if it destroys who we are) is toxic. There are tons of Brits who foster a hatred of cricket...... they don't "brigade" during the Ashes that it's "dying" and make fun of it.
