Yes, I know. I had a fantastic meltdown. You've mentioned it more than once now, without me prompting you. The mods said that baiting like that isn't acceptable these days, but whatever, because I know you're wasted right now.

But you're not having a meltdown tonight at all. :MARIS61:

To be fair he says you know meltdowns, much like I do. I know meltdowns, I've seen meltdowns, hell I've even help to cause a few. He didn't say you're having a meltdown.

Personally I'd like to have a meltdown. I did just have a really good chocolate peanut butter milkshake.

So yes, he hit Newton in the head. Should have been a personal foul and a penalty. And yes, if a foot hits you in the head, you were "kicked" by it.

LOL. It's cool. Change it up now. You said he was clearly kicked.

The 49ers kicked the Panthers' ass on the line of scrimmage. Panther fans blaming the loss on the refs are just being fans blaming a loss on the refs. It would be a bit like Blazer fans blaming the refs for losing 2000 Game 7 on the refs.

Which is what Blazers did and still do, generally speaking, regarding game 7. I'm guilty of it, too. Sabonis was manhandled by Shaq! I don't deny it. Most fans that say they didn't complain are liars.

The fact is this, the Niners have been to the NFC championship three years in a row, and yet you'd think the Seahawks were the ones who had been dominating the NFC. The regular season doesn't matter anymore. The playoffs are the only thing that matter. Winning all the games in the regular season doesn't mean shit if you lose the ones that count, which you guys did last season. Even if you get past the Niners, you should be legitimately concerned because the Superbowl isn't in Seattle. Can your team win on the road in the playoffs?

I'm not confident the Niners can win in Seattle. I guess we'll see, but even if you get past us, I would be concerned about your team's ability to win away from home.

You're right that the playoffs are all that matters right now. I think we're finally on the same page here.

That's not true. Kicking is an action. It's a verb.

"to strike out with the foot or feet"

You can be hit with a foot, or leg, without being kicked. Should he have been flagged? Maybe, but would it have mattered? They were already on the one yard line. It literally didn't move them any closer to the goal with the encroachment penalty.

It would have been a first down from the one yard line. Brooks' foot struck out and hit Newton in the head. It was a blown call.

It would have made it first down, though. But the Panthers still would have to cross the goal line with a new set of downs. It could have made a difference, but as Papa said, the Niners dominated the line. So it may not have mattered.

I complained during Game 7 and on the ESPN board after it. Are you playing nice again, or are you going to try and bait me into a meltdown that won't happen?

Sly, I'm in the middle of a meltdown. Before I start calling people SlyPokerDogs, please ban me.

For fear of the posters, the SlyPokerDogs of the forum, myself.

Won't ban but I can arrange a 1 day suspension.

I don't remember what down it was at that point.

It didn't seem like his leg struck out. I thought it just grazed Newton as he went by. Did you get the impression that he intentionally tried to kick him?

Playing nice? My posts are just honest. I can admit when I'm wrong.

As for a meltdown... I was a big champion of you. I hope it doesn't happen. I thought it was made to be bigger than it was.

I complained during the series, for sure. I don't remember complaining during that game specifically. I don't know if the NBA rigs who they want to win a series, but I definitely think they try to make a good series like the Blazers/Lakers go seven games because they get more money. They also realized back then that the WCF was the true championship because the eastern conference was flat out horrible. We watched the league do virtually the same thing to Sacramento over the next couple years as well.

Those playoff series did some serious damage to my opinion of the league.

True.

Nate is being reasonable. My bad, NB3!

Come on, Papa. It's funny you really side with RT. Any other time you'd call him out for his posts being so whiny and everyone growing so tired that he left the board for a while (to the board's success).

Hey Nate

Can you sticky a thread in the main forum that we haven't earned the right to talk shit about the Lakers?

For the record, though, and the board would agree: you've had more than one.

He didn't try and kick out, his leg grazed his helmet which 10 years ago would have ment nothing but in today's game anything done to the QBs head is a penalty. It doesn't have to be intentional for it to be called. In the playoffs personally I think they should throw the rulebook out and let the more physical team be the victor.

I've always been kind of neutral on the Seahawks. Can't stand Hawks fans or Niners fans really, they're both annoying. Can't pick whether to root for them to win to piss off Niners fans, or root for them to lose to once again shatter the Seahawks fans dreams in what was supposed to be a dream season.

I definitely rooted for the Hawks over the Steelers in 05'.

Would like to see PA finally win a championship and think that excitement would carry over to an even bigger thirst for title for the Blazers.

They pretty much did against the Packers last week. This week the Panthers were especially chippy at the beginning of the game, so I think the refs decided to call the game a little closer. They missed a few calls on both sides. It is what it is.

I loved the physicality of the packers/niners game last week. Reminded me of the 90s style of football.

Are you seriously talking about a Kingspeed thread right now?

That game was extremely physical, but not dirty, which is why I think the refs were letting so much go.

This game had a definite feel at the beginning, and I think the refs saw that and adjusted how they were going to call the game. Carolina was definitely jacked up to be in the playoffs, and they were intense, but they were letting their emotions get the best of them.
