NFL Playoffs

That game was extremely physical, but not dirty, which is why I think the refs were letting so much go.

This game had a definite feel at the beginning, and I think the refs saw that and adjusted how they were going to call the game. Carolina was definitely jacked up to be in the playoffs, and they were intense, but they were letting their emotions get the best of them.

All there PF were definitely called for but I didn't watch the game (thanks work!) and unlike the Packers/Niners there isn't a torrent of the game up yet, so I can't for sure say how I think the reffing went. I just know I hate this ticky tack shit thats called especially in the playoffs and my god do I get so horribly pissed off at how inconsistent the refs in the NFL are.
I personally got my wish for the playoffs. The Seahawks/Niners playing each other because your two fan bases HATE each other and the teams do as well. Its been a long while since a playoff game has made me think there would be 3 or 4 fights and a few players kicked out like I think there will be next week.
I want the 90's physical football back, but that could be because my team hasn't been relevant since the late 90's as well lol, and the Niners/Seahawks give the best shot for a glimpse back in time when teams just kicked the shit out of each other all over the field.

I hope the refs let them play next week.

Totally agree. I enjoyed that about the Pack-Niners game. It probably almost cost the Niners the game (I give the Pack a ton of credit, as I did in posts last week - they took advantage of the everything the refs gave them while te Niners tried playing mistake-free; penalties or not, being aggressive often wins games).

Let 'em play. Let 'en duke it out. Call the big, glaringly obvious calls, call it both ways, but let 'em play.

I loved the physicality of the packers/niners game last week. Reminded me of the 90s style of football.

Yeah, it's what football used to be. Before it became sissified. Seriously, so many guys are going down to leg injuries and it's only getting worse with the new rules.

Very reminiscent of the Niners/Cowboys rivalry of the 90's. Tons of bad blood. I think the refs are going to be on high alert in that game.

Are you a Duck fan?

I've been a fan of Pete Carroll's long before he ever became the Seahawks coach.

As a DUCKS FAN, I still enjoyed watching his USC teams, especially the 2005 season. One of the most exciting seasons I've ever seen.

I think a lot of PAC fans liked watching USC represent the PAC 10 and west coast during those years.

I'm sure you were a HUGE Carroll fan when he was coaching the Pats. Kinda like how you left for BE after the 3rd game of the season, right?

This might be why I cannot find myself rooting for the Niners no matter what, except vs Giants/Redskins/Eages I hope you guys slaughter those teams everytime you meet them, but I think they are one of a very few teams that remind me of the physicality i grew up watching every Sunday and thats just fun football to watch.

You've always excelled at making no sense

Right. You've long been a Carroll fan. Nobody in the PAC 10/12 likes him, except USC fans. No real, self-respecting Ducks fan roots for Carroll (that's fitting, cuz there are no real, self-respecting Hawks fan).

Were you a fan when he was the Niners D coordinator?

Nah, his answer was a weak-ass attempt to try to avoid the embarrassment of his real answer to my question. No real Ducks fan would have any admiration for him. I'd understand later, but if you're a real Ducks or Beavs fan, you had no like or live for Pete while he was at USC.

LOL. Serious question: been so busy/ill/taking care of family that I haven't followed as close the last 4-5 weeks.... Is Kobe coming back this season?

Sorry to hear that. I've been in Montana for a month taking care of family affairs, too. Life kind of sucks at times, right?

My experiences now tell me that lashing out at others on a message board isn't any type of answer.

"Cuz he cheated hurr"

Sorry, I've always like Pete Carroll, and that's with stuff he does off the field as well. He's the kind of guy that would fit right in with the Blazers with giving the team a community feeling and giving back to the community.

He's just a good guy who people misunderstand. Same with Chip Kelly, who people around the PAC 12 hated.

You fanatics can't get past your hatred and see clearly.

niners got bragging rights, since they won the last game. Since we are talking about this season and all. Pretty sure if Arizona can dominate seattle than the niners can too. Maybe just hide their secondarys meth before kickoff

Seriously, I lost count, how many Seattle players have been busted for snorting crank before games the last couple years?

The whole if a beats b, and b beats c, then a must beat c

Ignorant thought process

I'm not a Seahawk fan at all, but Aldon Smith ... helllooooo. A DUI is worse than the Seadderall Seahawks, IMO. Smith drunkenly smashed his car into another, and yet still is playing.

See, I'm all for this. Taking these kind of shots is how it should be.

One thing I never knew, probably because I'm not on NFL general boards, is how much 49er fans post like Laker fans.

It's insufferable. Goodness!

Also, Harbaugh's tantrums are always comedic gold.

What a whiney bitch.

This is all kind of a moot point anyways because Denver's going to win it all.
