Was this bolded part supposed to be sarcasm? I liked Batum, but I don't think he was the best Blazer ever.

I think they're talking about LA not Batum.

Great article... goes back to what we were saying about his exit interview. He has incredible personal charisma and heart.

I was talking to a friend about the Warriors series and said the Blazers reminded me of Austin Rivers in Game 6 against the Clippers. Bloody stitches, eye swollen shut, but they just would... not... die...

They're young and unproven but they are TOUGH and earned a lot of respect from people who weren't fans before.

Blazers better than LA:

Petrie
Walton
Lucas
Gross
Drexler
Porter
Buck
Sheed
Sabonis
Dame

I mean: Come on.

I 100% agree but that comment about losing the best blazer so far was from a stats perspective. And why they said "so far" because Dame will break it soon.

Buck? Nah.

Drexler
Walton
B Roy
Sheed
Porter
Pippen (career)
Maybe Sabonis
And of course Dame

Jeff Van Gundy hyperbolically exclaimed that you could swap Lillard for Curry and not see much of a difference. But here’s the thing: I don’t disagree! Lillard’s the closest thing the NBA has to Curry
I have to say, that to me, the Lillard/Curry era feels eerily similar to the Drexler/Jordan era. We have an amazing player, who at any other time could be the best in the league, but just happens to play the same position as one of the all time greats.

But (as before) I don't even feel disappointed about it, because I'm just so happy that we're lucky enough to have a player of that caliber at all.

A buddy and I were discussing just this last night. It could very well be possible that the Blazers never get passed the conference finals. Because of one person.
If this be the case, Ill be happy being a winning team that competes with the greatest, but it will come with a sour taste of having to do it twice now with no ring to show for it.

It could also be a Lakers/Celtics comparison. One year one team wins, the next the other (also of course Portland and GSW are in same conference.)

GSW had magical season but the playoff series showed they are not invulnerable, and they will necessarily have to lose a few pieces due to contract issues. Not Curry and Thompson, of course, but some role players.

Yesterday I planted a golden bamboo to honor the Blazers, and watered it. The plant and team can both grow.
Driving home from nursery with a 5' bamboo in the passenger seat of my Corolla was a mite crowded, but it was a better seatmate than rose bushes, which while beautiful are notoriously unfriendly.
