Andre Miller: Who Benefits, Who Not So Much...

This especially jumped out at me.
Greg Oden should find Miller to be a little slice of heaven offensively. If the Blazers have Greg in the post Andre should be able to feed him there. It's more likely that Portland will be looking for Greg to catch the ball on the way to the basket either off the screen or keying off of somebody else's penetration. Andre should be great at either approach. It's hard to think of a better (obtainable) point guard for this purpose. We've already talked about the lack of relief for Greg on the defensive end but at least Miller shouldn't be dumbfounded by the first screen he sees while defending. Oden may have to deal with penetration but maybe he won't get hung out to dry on opposing point guards as much.

Amen.

In short:
Winners: Brandon, Oden, LaMarcus, Rudy, Nic, Martell, Przy, McMillan
Losers: Jerryd, Outlaw, Blake

:twothumbs:

I'm so excited about Oden, genuinely could be an amazing player and is such a down to earth likable guy.

How can you not like someone like that?

anyone have a recap of what dave had to say please? Alex or Tince, I'm looking at you guys! ;)

Ah, welcome  if you are a refugee from another board (like me and most others in here) I hope this place serves you well.

I've posted once or twice on clubblazer.

This guy on the radio is nailing it. Trade Bayless for a "back up" PF.

Basically from what he is saying Nate wanted Miller from day one. That being the case we played a blinder with Millsap.

This and Odem to Miami = great news.

Would you rather have a young PF in back up or someone in the Miller mould who can come in and will be better now but has hit the ceilling?

Anyone who thinks Hank Aaron is bitter is a fool.

HA openly said when he broke the record he hoped he would see someone break his records whether they were black or white. HA is a legend.

Thanks for the recap, Odom isnt official yet though is he? As for me on the PF, it honestly depends, if Oden is in there and can stay on the floor, then I think our backup Rebounding is fine (whether it comes from Joel or Oden) although I am far from an Outlaw fan, what he can offer is the versatility to slide over to the 4, which opens up more minutes for the man in your avatar, which is a good thing. Martell however cannot switch over, that would take minutes away from Rudy, so it depends how our bigs work out (mainly Oden) and opening up minutes fory Rudy.

No it isn't for certain but I get the feeling it will happen.

Then again when Kobe says something along the lines of "I hope not" then maybe that is the leverage Odom needs?

I should have put a cavaet in there you're right. Sorry.

lol it didnt bug me, I just got really excited for abotu 15 seconds until I checked other sites like Realgm.. now I am saddened :sigh:

Yeah sorry again.

Jim Rome really isn't a radio guy is he? I'm all for thinking before you speak but the amount of dead air time when he is on air is a bit silly.

One of the best TV presenters I've seen though.

I hope this is right, as I felt the pursuit of a backup PF for starter's money (and desired role) was illogical when other holes needed filling.
