It's not my fault his friends or whoever, gave him a nickname that means a female knight. :tongue2:

If it does end up Dame, my nickname for him might have to be Edna.

Unfortunately for me, the name Lillard reminds me of the Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard.

What I really think about his nickname is don't force it, just let it come naturally.
 
I think The Omen is the best I've heard so far. It's original (no other player has it), it's a play on his name, and it's got the 0 thing (his jersey number being chosen because of his Oakland/Ogden/Oregon pedigree.) And at only 22, the skills he's already displaying are pretty ominous. An omen is an uncertain indication of monumental things to come. Coming out of Weber state as a pretty unheralded player for most of his career, it just fits.

Plus, it's easy to imagine Mike Rice drunkenly say, "The Omen?!?! More like the Ohhh-mannn!"

From what I have seen posted I agree with The Omen. Don't forget Oakland too.

I kind of liked Natural Born Lillard and Damn-ian, but not as much as The Omen.
 
So I guess that means we should all try to bring "The OMEN!" signs to games this year so the nickname starts to stick.

We run the risk of him being the gift that keeps giving.
 
The Gift is pretty nice, I gotta admit. But it doesn't seem to fit his playing style that much. Seems like a nickname destined for a pass-first PG. Besides, 3 or 5 years from now only Portland and New Jersey will remember they trade his pick for Gerald Wallace.

God damn that trade was awesome. It seemed like a swindle at the time, and every day it just gets better and better. The Nets are going to be paying Crash $10mil/year through the 2016 season.
 
Sounds like it's time to make a poll--Omen v Gift, nickname grudge match.
 
Omen's seem so insidious and dark.... the Gift sounds so pleasant and light :grin:

Isn't it a bit early for a thread devoted to deciding his nickname, such as "The Gift"... :sigh: Yuck. That's cringe inducing. What did we decide on for Bayless, TRex or something? Yeah, that was worth it.

This premature ejac is annoying.. I think there are pills for this.
