Nolan Smith dawing interest and Bulls, Hawks and Thunder most likley to pursue...

JJ Hickson and Kevin Faried are very similar players. Hickson actually edges him out stats wise. So even if we had drafted Faried we'd be in the same boat we're in now, needing an interior defender. An advantage would be, that Faried would make better trade bait because he's on his rookie contract.

I'd rather have Hickson/Faried as the starting PF, because I like PFs with inside toughness that can finish inside.

I'm afraid that JJ Hickson is all about stats.

A very good source, aka your ass. They spend weeks analyzing players and studying film, then some psychologist pipes up at the last minute and they pick Smith?

Believe what you want angry man.

I heard from a very good source within the organization that everybody was on board with drafting Faried except for minutes before the draft one team psychologist ~ The team psychologist has now been let go.

It's funny you mention this, because for quite a few weeks now I was debating whether to make a post talking about the teams psychologist and their performance.
My reasoning being, that all top performance teams, sports orientated or not, employ psychology, and the Blazers, to me, have really shown poor body language & mannerisms.

This is only my opinion and is in no way 'expert' but to the eye, something has seemed off about the team for the past few years.
Is it the lack of a true vocal team leader, the fallout of the 'Sarge' tenure or the result of the huge string of bad luck the team has suffered?
Maybe to all three?

In any case, that little revelation about the team psychologist (and my perceived lack of their handiwork - and their firing) really shone some light on what I had been seeing the last few years.

This season in about 5 games, the other team's play-by-play guy has noticed Aldridge's uninterested body language.

So even though the Blazers don't have a shot at making the Playoffs, You think they should have the mind set and be playing as if they do?

I said 5 games this season, not the last 5 games. Until recently, we were in the thick of it.

No. B/c he can't be traded from the deadline onward, since his contract is up this summer.

Unless you mean in a sign-and-trade in July, in which case I still say no. S&T does nothing for Nolan. And I highly doubt that he makes more than the vet minimum, which every team has, or at the highest the Room Exception.
