how do i make all my songs play at the same volume, because some of my music is louder than others, and it blows when that happens. i use winamp, if that matters.

EDIT: and by normalizing, i mean making everything have the same relative volume.

use iTunes, it has that option.

I use winamp too, and I know what you mean, so I have the same question too.

iTunes is for pussies and mac users.

1. I don't have a mac

2. Says the guy who can't normalize his audio

You cant alter the voulme, it all depends on the bitrate, the songs that are playing like shit likely have a low bitrate (probably like 160-192), you ideally want every song to be 320kbps, but you cant get away with the sound quality being similar on some 192kbps songs to that of those on 320kbps songs.

You are incorrect, there are programs that alter the volume without distorting the sound.

I'm not talking quality, I'm talking audio levels.

mp3gain is the one that I found and am using, for whoever wanted to know also.

Itunes has that feature.......o look someone already mentioned that. Itunes FTW......everything else FTL
