Article by J.A. Adande over on ESPN.

Camby sounds like he will bolt to me.
"I actually live in Houston in the offseason, so I always thought about in the latter part of my career playing down there. But I like the situation here in Portland. They're definitely in need of big men. So I'll just have to weigh my options."

I think Andre has been a rock for us.
With their star struggling and the athletic trainers kept busy around the clock, suddenly Andre Miller, who struggled to fit in for much of the season, is looking like just the type of player they need: someone who can be counted on to play every night. Miller hasn't missed a game since 2003, and in his 11th season, he keeps providing the occasional surprise, be it his 52-point outburst in a win at Dallas in January or his explosive dunk in Denver on Sunday.

He didn't address some of the things going well for us like Bayless or Batum....

Where do you get that impression? I see it as a guy keeping his options open. Nothing I read here say "I'm gonna bolt".

I think he's just trying to get paid and can't PDX offer him the most?

Translation: I recognize there is an opening on a playoff team with what happened with Pryzbilla.

I think once we make the playoffs and win some games, Camby will start to like playing on the Blazers a bit more.

Blazers are screwed. Unless the Blazers offer significantly more money (basically overpay), Camby will resign with another team

In just one year, the Trail Blazers have gone from a template of how to assemble a team to cautionary tale of hopes running aground. At this point, nothing can come as a surprise. They know the injury risks involved with so many of their key players. The question is, how many will continue to form their nucleus?

Future as in tomorrow, thursday, friday, next week, next month, next season, next year, or next couple years...? Lets hear it oh enlightened one

With Joel getting hurt again, Camby has a lot more leverage. Money talks, so we will see.

When did YOU ever think it was bright?

When did YOU ever think it was bright?

I think it was last year when he made a bet the Blazers wouldn't make the playoffs . . . the day he made the bet was teh brightest he has ever been around here. The brightness dimmed soon after when he realized he would lose that bet.

Funny, he thinks the Blazers are worse this year but won't make the same bet he made last year . . . deep down inside he knows the Blazers are better than he makes them out to be on this board.

They have? One year ago, you thought the Blazers were a template for how to build a team? Were you saying that back then? I forget.

Once again MIXUM fails to attribute a quote to an author and creates confusion over whose words are whose.

Aha. Okay, that's fair but it's also fair to note that his quoting it implies agreement with that quote. If the author was wrong about the Blazers then, why would he be right now?

Camby is a rental. We'll be able to take Miller and Przy's expiring contract and get a hell of a player. I'm wholly convinced that KP will do some manuvering in the draft and get us a big man.

If he does that then he better get a darn good PG also. If not we will still struggle.

I like Camby here for the longterm, championship run. We need a player like him, because GREG gets in foul trouble fast and we won't lose a step defensively.

The guy is 35. There is no long-term for him.

I think Bayless will grow into the position. He won't be a traditional PG, but I think his skill set compliments Roy pretty well. Besides, we know we're re-signing Blakey in the offseason.:devilwink:

he can probably give 2-3 more seasons as a servicable backup. Next year is rebuild, the year after is championship window time.

If we stay healthy next year, even without Przy, we win 56-60 games. Our championship window should have opened this year. This team is ready.

Next year is this year all over again. I don't think the window will be open next year, we're probably going to be aiming at home court in the first round of the playoffs.

It is pretty easy to spot his plagiarism... proper punctuation, use of spell check, no capital letters, no blanket apologies of the "truth" to people who he assumes are unable to read the same headlines he does...
