This is an honest question:

Is there one policy the republicans are actually trying to do for the American people that is NOT about taking rights away from someone?

I know the answer is no.

I do enjoy that since Republicans have zero power essentially so they are going to try to take down a citizen of the united states' as their top priority. And waste the last 2 years of Bidens' term doing nothing for the country otherwise.

And the most ironic thing is they keep going "if you haven't found anything on t*ump by now why keep trying?" (Even though any smart person sees he's fucked and all the proof is there and that same smart person knows it takes years)... Yet, they will string along idiots with the hunter Biden nonsense that has NO proof (wait... That's just like all the election stuff! Huh! A pattern!)

I really miss the times where it was literally about the issues and policies. The republican party is in shambles and the GOP is practically gone (and gone, if you get what I'm saying)

Their actual platform is outlaw all abortion, end social security and Medicare, and ban teaching anything that makes white people uncomfortable. Also attack trans kids.
So no, they have nothing but attack people's rights. They are about performance, not governing. And stoking white outrage.
 
Along with the Hunter Biden thing, some of the stuff I've read as to what the GOP wants to accomplish with the House majority are conducting probes relating to the US-Mexico border, the origins of COVID and Dr. Fauci, the FBI search at Mar-a-Lago, IRS actions, the Afghanistan withdrawal, and how the administration has dealt with parents/school boards. Also they want institutional changes like getting rid of the House's remote voting system and metal detectors placed outside the chamber after Jan-6, trying to impose term limits on Democratic committee leaders, kicking Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell of the House Intelligence Committee, kicking Ilhan Omar off the Foreign Affairs Committee while restoring people like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar to their previous committees or to even "better" ones. They want to hold Biden and his administration "accountable for how they've shut down American energy, broken trust at America's public health agencies, made the fentanyl crisis worse, and increased our dependence on supply chains controlled by the Chinese Communist Party". And some on the far right like MTG obviously want to stop all aid to Ukraine because why have even one redeeming quality?

Meanwhile due to nonpartisan districting, in Michigan Democrats control executive and legislature. Not one of the leaders is a while male. More to the point, their plans include repealing anti union law, raising teacher salaries, improving policing, reducing gum violence and codifying LGBTQ rights.

Do they really care about what is on the laptop? or just going to try to divert the investigation from Trump. I am sure the first thing they do is disband that investigation.

I'm not sure they'll be able to take even a bite out of gum violence. Sure they can make it harder to purchase Doublemint and Trident with stricter background checks but society is just too saturated with Juicy Fruit at this point.

Remind me which party voted against raising the minimum wage, health care, campaigns on banning abortions, against gay marriage, and then please remind me which party wanted to make abortions safe and legal, raise the min wage, and making to so gay marriage was allowed.

Then come back to the "neither party cares" horse shit.

You could argue they don't care as much as they should, but the DNC actually puts forth legislation that is for the betterment of people and society, whereas the GOP doesn't

It's clear one party actually cares and the other one is compromised.

It's pretty well proven that competition and personal races raise more money for both sides.

I don't understand why someone would ignore the impact of money on politics.

It's very clear to me that both parties care more about money than getting anything done. That's why both parties provide a list of donors And require their representatives to spend over 30hrs per week cold calling them and making promises.

Don't you think our representative parties would spend that time trying to better things if they actually cared about making anything better?

I think you are ascribing the wrong motivations. From what I understand, most people, even politicians, hate begging for money. They do it because that's what's required to keep their jobs, individually and collectively, because winning campaigns cost money. We have a stupid campaign financing system, but it's not entirely the fault of the current crop of politicians.

Raising campaign cash is a means to an end, not an end in itself, for any relatively honest politician.
