Thrillist has an immediate opening for an Editorship in Portland. This person will be the newest member in Thrillist's growing lifestyle empire, applying the brand's wit and selectiveness to an exciting new market.
The ideal candidate will have an eye for all things cool, a gift for language, a keen knowledge of service journalism, and be positive, detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and organized.
Responsibilities
* Represent the Thrillist brand in Portland
* Assume full responsibility for all Thrillist Portland content -- from finding great topics, to determining how best to present them, to executing that vision.
* Manage a network of contacts, publicists, freelancers, and tipsters
* Liaise with the New York headquarters to support marketing, adsales, and events in Portland
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree, English or Journalism preferred
* 3 years work experience
* Have lived in Portland 5+ years
* Firm understanding of the Thrillist mindset and voice
* Witty sense of humor
* Excellent time-management and organization skills, plus a high comfort level with deadlines
* Enthusiastic self-starter
* Relentless eye for detail; perfectionist tendencies
* Impervious to writer's block
