Serious question: What would Faried give us that Ed Davis doesn't? If you look at their advanced stats, in most of the rate stats (TRB%, AST%, STL%, BLK%), they are nearly identical, with one notable exception - USG%. Davis gives us Faried's production, at a much lower USG%. Davis doesn't demand the ball to be productive, which makes him the perfect complimentary player to our high scoring guards.
If you look at the various Win Share and Box Plus/Minus stats, Davis is the clear winner. Davis is also 2" taller and can can play the center position. Faried cannot. Davis is much cheaper and fits in perfectly with the team's chemistry and culture. He wants to be here, and it shows.
So, why do we need Faried?
