Strike first or wait to see how they handle Taiwan?

These war games and provocations seem to be coming to a head.

To word it better - if they attack Taiwan do you attack with nukes before they get a chance?

Nobody is going to use Nukes. It's suicide. Nobody can destroy the others fast enough to prevent a country ending counterstrike and nuclear winter.

It's economic suicide for China to start a world war which is what this would do...there are a lot of nukes pointed at China right now and they'd lose all foreign investment closing factories and they'd piss off a million foreign businesses operating in Taiwan right now....China looks big but it's desert....Taiwan has a shit ton of missiles that'd hit China immediately as does India...this will not happen for mostly economic reasons...China knows this...they are just sabre rattling which they've always done. China needs trading partners...not enemies

China’s nuke projections — Oregon SPECIFICALLY is über fucked in a nuke attack on the US.

Really? They have no plans to attack DC pr NY? What a BS map.
lot of national parks in the line of fire and the pentagon isn't even a target nor our oil regions or industrial areas....makes no sense to blow up Wyoming and leave the east coast untouched

Probably not "no plans," but it's easier for them to reach the West Coast across the Pacific, I imagine.

Though with Russia unveiling missiles that can circle the globe multiple times in space, it probably doesn't matter much. China may not have such missiles right now, but likely soon.

I have a pet peeve. While working at Boeing on the most powerful nuclear missile in the world a lot of the people around me could not spell M I S S I L E. This drove me nuts.

I can but editing spelling on a msg board is sort of a waste of time...when Denny puts me on salary I'll proof read every word and use things like punctuation ....this place is scratch paper...there are more important pet peeves Lanny than typos

I wasn't referring to here other than it reminded me of people working in the field who really needed to not make mistakes and then can't even spell missile as in N U C L E A R missiles. Seems like you wouldn't want to make a lot of errors when working on nukes.

I get called out aT times for some admittedly shitty typed posts. But feel the same. Im not writing a memo to nasa or a manual for policy change here. Lol. ive won awards for my writings, but i dont consider this place a contest. Lol.

Were you a steely eyed missile man?

Surely there are more important important peeves generally speaking but when you're working on projects where details are vitally important like making nuclear missiles it kind of hits a person like me who is trying to assure that nukes work exactly as designed in the gut when you see repeated errors relating to something you really should know and could mean minor errors that could involve Millions of lives. Don't you think people should be careful with nuclear missiles?

That ship has sailed.

China has hypersonic nukes now.

Technology so advanced it's never been witnessed before last week, except for the many "UFO" sightings over the decades. We have nothing to stop them.

We have the world's only antimissile missile.
When I was at Boeing in 1986 we took out an orbiting satellite in outer space, no mean feat. Fast forward 35 years, don't you think we're better at that stuff now?
These things only go about 20% as fast as a ballistic missile.

China has tested their system successfully, but that’s not the same as deploying it. Ours are in testing. The test a couple of days ago was a bust, but I’m sure we won’t be far behind. That’s the nature of an arms race. In the meantime, we have more than enough air, sea, and land-based systems to protect ourselves.

We haven't had anything to stop them since they learned to make ICBMs decades ago...

Nothing has changed.
