Nurkic extension not a sure thing

He's got to earn it, but I bet the Blazers then pay him.

You think a message board poster sending you $200 for nothing is a good analogy? It would be like if you had a business and had to pay $200 to keep a key employee.
It's a great analogy. He said PA wouldn't miss the money. It would be no problem.

At some point, the money matters

So if you owned a business you wouldn't pay $200 to an employee that increased your efficiency from less than 50% to roughly 70%? That being in relation to the winning percentage before and after Nurk. I'm guessing if there was even only a good chance of that increase most business owners would jump all over it. For an hourly employee that works out to about 10 cents more an hour right?

I used to have one of those, back in the day when we cruised the drive-in. Chicks dug riding in the Bosnian Convertible Mark.

most people park at the drive in...you drove around and had to stop all the time and look in cars for chicks?

My dad always told me to keep my feet off the seat. I don't think that's important now.

That was the style at the time. Wore onions on our belts, too.

If Olshey wants to lose his job he'll let Nurk slip away for nothing like he did Aldridge.

I really don't think that's going to happen.
I get the impression Paul Allen is pretty happy with the front office and coaching staff.....We have Nurk, we don't have Aldridge...what's not to like? I think Swanigan and Vonleh are going to beast...we just need to upgrade Crabbe's 6 man role and we're good to go..

I agree with the article. If we sign Nurk to a max contact without somehow dumping a bunch of salary we're looking at a pretty hefty tax bill. And for what? So we can lose to Golden State in the second round rather than the first? I can see Paul Allen thinking long and hard about it.

You're talking about an young all-star calibur center. Those are rather hard to come by. If Allen was willing to pay 18 mil for turner and crabe, he'd give Nurk the max without even blinking.

The only way we'd let Nurk walk next year is if his play took a nose-dive or if he got a serious injury.

Dump Aminu and Hark and we'd be under the tax. I'd not like to lose Harkless, but they paid Turner a shit load so they are stuck with him.

We would have one year of a hefty tax bill, but then Turner and Leonard would come off the books and we'd be fine.

Only if you let it matter. What matters is what you let matter.
Not everyone is the same. Not everyone thinks money first.
Billionaires do. It's why they are billiinaires. PA has already cautioned about not paying tax
