Obviously I don't know whether the allegation is true (though it fits my impression of the kind of guy he is based on his past). But it definitely helps explain an otherwise puzzling thing I noticed in the televised practice from last Wednesday (which took place only a few hours after this incident supposedly ocurred.) At one point Carter appeared to be ribbing Kidd and mouthed the words "he's drunk" to another player (off camera). I still have it on tivo and may run it back to re-evaluate. But it seemed so strange at the time that I ran it back during the next commercial that morning just to see it a second time. It seemed equally clear the second time that Carter mouthed "he's drunk".

I seriously doubt Kidd actually had abnormal blood alcohol levels at practice, but the after-effects must have seemed obvious enough to Vince, expecially if Kidd planted the seed earlier in the practice by telling him where he'd been just a few hours earlier.

Lovely start to the season. Hurry back, Marcus.
