Who cares if he's in the East? He'll be retired before the Nets are contenders again.
Iverson is a non-factor in the scheme of things. I don't think he'll help the Pistons one bit.
Billups on the other hand will help the Nuggets.
Denver won the trade.
Detroit got $24M off their books over the next two seasons and got back something valuable for this season.
You can see it that way, but I think it's a step closer to rebuilding.
I cannot include them into the favorites with AI at PG. (plus they lose mcdyess, which is valuable in the playoffs)
It's 100% about rebuilding. But the difference is they traded for Iverson (useful) instead of Marbury (give up).
So they've given up on taking another run at the championship?
Might as well trade Rasheed, and get some younger blood in, and prepare for the draft, if you're giving up so early into the season.

Can you say LEBRON?

1) Lebron is a FA in 2010
2) I'm pretty sure Rasheed is in the final year of his contract, CK
3) Rasheed and AI would come off the books in 2009, a year too early to get Lebron.
