It was out before, the McCain camp is just running out of negative stuff to say about Obama and they have to pick every little minute thing they can find and magnify it.

Guess what? Coal=carbon dioxide=greenhouse effect. If you hadn't realized it yet, a big part of Obama's program is to lessen carbon dioxide emissions and create jobs in alternative fuel branches. That means coal and oil companies will take hits. That is good, because those people can (with their knowledge) be transferred to these new businesses and bring new ideas into the mixture.

From a (US) domestic standpoint, McCains plans are more likely to result in reduction of jobs due to tax and cost benefits in outsourcing. Obviously, the free global market system would be the best for everyone (discounting negative externalities in poorer countries that get to produce these goods, such as higher emissions and pollution). I think the US market, looking at how many jobs are in manufacturing, is too badly equipped to handle those sorts of job losses. That's where Obama's education plans would come in handy in the future as your workforce becomes more adapted to a 21st century service sector market. Agreed?

Coal and Oil Companies will take a hit? No, he said that he would bankrupt them with his energy policies. He also said that under his plan energy prices would skyrocket. This isn't negative campaigning if it is Obama in his own words. I fail to see a problem with bringing something Obama himself is saying to the attention of the public. While I agree we have to lessen emissions and take better care of our environment, the technology is not yet available to implement a plan such as this so quickly. Your talking about McCain and job losses, 50% of our electricity comes from Coal, how many jobs would it cost bankrupting these companies?

I can only hope that Obama takes a huge hit in Ohio, Pa, and other blue collar states due to this statement. Although being as how Fox is the only one really reporting on it, that is doubtful.

The country is already at a massive deficit. I don't get a feeling either canidate has a clue on how to fix the economy. Even the top economists in the world don't have a clue. I think both will try to prolong the problems during their term, but neither knows how to fix it.

And I'm sure it's all Bush's fault, Democrats who hold the majority (and a 9% approval rating I might add) have absolutely nothing to do with it!

That's a convenient answer for a lot of people, but I think majority of the blame should be placed on the American consumer living above their means.
