FAYETTEVILLE - Arkansas offensive lineman Anthony Oden was arrested by Fayetteville Police early Sunday and charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving and driving without a license.

Oden was booked into the Washington County Detention Center at 6:39 a.m. Sunday and released at 2:32 p.m. on $1,055 bond, according to the detention center's website. Oden is scheduled to appear in court for an Aug. 9 hearing.

Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino said he is "disappointed" in Oden and "handling the matter," according to a UA spokesperson.

Oden (6-foot-8, 334 pounds), the younger brother of Portland Trailblazers center Greg Oden, saw little playing time in 2009 but is expected to compete for a starting position at offensive tackle when preseason drills begin next month.

He is the second Razorback football player to be arrested and charged with DWI in the last three weeks. Fullback Van Stumon was arrested in the early hours of June 12 and is scheduled to appear in court July 16.

I don't love the idea that Oden was possibly flushing his life down the toilet, I love the fact that ABM gave everybody a heart attack.

I'll give it to ABM . . . . got me on that one. Title is fair enogh in my book because it's true and is related to basketball (as much as other threads in this forum).

Remember when Canzano wrote a big article bitterly criticizing Oden for allowing alcohol at his birthday party? Oden didn't drink but others did. We discovered Canzano's religious motives for hating the Blazers and mouthy black men in that one article.

I think something has been overlooked in this thread. In our rush to eviscerate ABM for inducing a panic attack that this might be our Oden, how shitty of a year has Greg (and his family) had? His younger brother getting clipped and putting his football future at risk (assuming the NFL is looking for guys that are 6'7" and weight 300 lbs.?) and Greg getting his wang picture plastered all over the internet and his knee exploding ... If you wanted to get all biblical about it, you'd almost guess that his great grand pappy raped a horse or something and they're cursed.
