Oden, finally starting to get out of his funk?

The dude was probably still pissed from getting that 5th foul for his "magical" strength ability to finger-push Shaq out of bounds.

douche bag refs.

Part of me hopes he actually is that strong.:ghoti::clap:

GO is starting to show more and more of what he's going to be. I'm getting ripped in another thread for saying that Brandon is going to be our third best player in five years, but I really do believe that Greg is going to be far and away our best player with LMA second.

You just don't find the combination of strength, quickness, length, athleticism and BBIQ that Oden has. The cream will rise to the top. And once the league realizes that Oden will REQUIRE a double team just to contain him, it will be party time for LaMarcus.

I admit I was worried again about Oden's psyche after Roy hit a big shot, the bench exploded, and then it pans to the end of the bench and Oden is sitting there doing a golf clap. Then, Oden got back in the game, got two HUGE offensive rebounds, and I went to sleep feeling a lot better about him than I had after that quick shot of him just sitting there during an incredible display by Roy.

I don't understand how you guys are so Bi-Polar in your feelings towards players by way of their 5 second camera time game face reaction(s). It boggles my mind. I mean, just because Greg isn't on his knees praising B-Roy for the 50 point barn buster, doesn't mean he isn't stoked. Perhaps he has other things in mind, like how he wants dominate next time he gets in the game, or whatever.

I think some of you guys need to calm down and quit over-analyzing things so the acid reflux doesn't kill ya! ;)

I'm not "bi-polar" and don't find that insult very funny at all. I noticed Oden as the only person in the building not going batcrap crazy. I'm sure I wasn't the only one to notice it and wonder about it. That said, what he did when he got back on the court was a big key to winning the game. Extra possessions won the game in the 4th quarter.

GO doesn't appear to be a particularly demonstrative guy. There's a naval phrase that comes to mind--maintaining an even strain. He doesn't get too high and he doesn't get too low. Tim Duncan has it. It will serve him well come the playoffs.

Lay off the crack it wasn't an insult directed at anyone, it was an analogy of how you and a few (to rename nameless) posters call doomsday, because oh my god, Oden isn't doing what you think he should be doing.

What the Blazers need to buy ODEN is a full length mirror to put next to his locker!!!!! He needs to remember he's a 7 foot nightmare on the floor and stare into that mirror before every game and say.... " I'm scary! I'm huge! and People Don't Want To Be In My Way!!!!!"

Yeah, probably because Oden can't afford a 7'0" mirror on his own ;)

I'd agree except for the Oden that we saw off of the court prior to playing is not the same person that we see on many nights. Plus, we have seen him joking and smiling with LMA on the court; it was when he felt he was contributing to a win a few weeks ago. It's OK to notice these things and post about them.

That is a totally ridiculous post and is not even close to representing what I posted about Oden.

Keep the thread on track, and refrain from your dim-witted approach of attacking me personally. It's funny and amusing, for sure, but just junks up this thread. :dunno:

and for the record....

Jean-Luc Picard was born in La Barre, France on Earth on July 13, 2305. He and his brother, Robert, spent their childhood tending to their family vineyards with their father, Maurice.

LOL . . . droppin' some good Trekkie knowledge!

Uh "worried about Oden's Pysche" is what you explained when talking about his reaction to Broy's accomplishment.

I guess that could be taken many ways, but when I read that in the context of the other posts, it's pretty clear to me that you and a few others are over analyzing as usual.

I just chose to use "doomsday" to light a little fire up in here, whatever, your post still insinuates negativity.
:dunno:

Hell, google for the win. I didn't have that memorized, but I knew for a fact Picard ain't no trailer trash!!

You should be getting ripped in the other thread for that. Brandon Roy is the center piece of this team. W/O him, we MIGHT be a .500 team. If I was starting an NBA team and I got to pick any player - there are probably 4-5 other guys I'd pick before B-Roy. He's that good, and so so clutch. He has that intangible ability to raise his level of play in the final minutes of a game that you just don't see very often. Kobe, Labron, Howard, Duncan, CP and then there a few others I'm not sure about (D-Wade, Amare, Nash, etc.) I'd rather have Roy than Dirk - I can tell you that. One guy is clutch and one isn't.

Oden will improve, and LA is already pretty darn good. But B-Roy might be an MVP candidate someday.

With Mo Lucas back, with days off, and now that he is talkin' to his old AAU coach and gettin' advice (that seems to help him a lot) I think we will see Greg progressing every game, whether his stats show it or not. And he has. He has really done well after his first 3? Games. I'm really proud of him, and just want him to have fun playing ball.

I was yelling at my bro telling him "Greg Oden showed emotion! DID YOU SEE THAT?!?!!?". I love him. We will go as far in the playoffs as the big man will take us. He is the wildcard. BRoy will show up eveyr night and do all he can, but playing a team like the Spurs in a 7 game series, we are going to need lots of players to step up. By then, I think we will see a much better Oden (He won't be 100% until next year.. and he will be able to work on his game this offseason rather than rehab... it will be awesome to watch him dominate next year but I am enjoying it now as well, and his progression).

I guess Picard was born in a trailer park, too. Did you guys have double-wides next to each other?

Just because someone lives in a trailer park doesn't mean you need to stereotype (and no i don't live in a TP).

I was very impressed with the way he started the game despite the foul trouble. He really looked tough and confident for once. Before the fouls, I though he was going to go for 20 and 10 last night. Oh well, I'm sure he'll be doing it soon.

Also, it was nice to see how Blake was able to find him in both pick and roll situations for his dunks. If Greg's going to improve his scoring average, some of it will have to come in the form of better passes from the guards. Nate has to be working that into practices and game strategies.

Man you nailed it. Last night (and once or twice in the Clippers game) was the first time I saw a Blazers point guard run the pick n' roll with Greg effectively all year. My guess is that they have been working on that very thing in practice lately. If they can get him rolling through the lane throwing down 5 or 6 of thunder dunks a game and hopefully getting fouled in the process it's going to do wonders for his confidence and it's going to make this team a pure wrecking ball on the offensive end.

I'll keep on the thread as long as you avoid the 6th-grade potty mouth mentality. Your ridiculous use of vulgarity is a huge distraction, and completely unnecessary. Keep it to yourself next time.

AMEN. Thats why he fits so good with Humble Roy, and Cool Lamarcus.

As far as his abilities go. Quickness is there, strength is there, verticals through the roof, but none of that matters if you haven't developed the skill. Seriously give the guy a summer of hard training and the nay-sayers will vanish. You all waited a year for him to rehabilitate, can't you wait for him to hone some skills?!?!?

I was at the game last night and he grabbed a critical rebound in the last minute. Greg Oden is everything and then some, just wait.

True Fan.

Using vulgarity is allowed on the board. Personal attacks are not.

Just so you remember that. Thanks.

The kind of in-your-face profanity that this guy uses is offensive, and should not be tolerated by the moderators or the members. How can we be expected to "respect" each other when one poster is showing so much disrespect to everyone by the foul language he uses?

Oden's got it All!

He's got it all sophistication, dynamo, he's a camillian. I trust Greg.

After Roy's performance last night I think there is no doubt (there was little before) he will be selected to play in the all-star game. There aren't tom many rookie centers so I think it's likely Greg goes to All-Star weekend too for the Rookie-Sophomore game. At that point he should be playing fantastic and I hope he dominates in that game on national television.

Who is this we you speak of? You disagree with and are breaking the rules of the site and those aren't changing... love it or leave it.
