Sure but he couldn't stay on the floor because he couldn't defend without fouling. He had games with 4 points and 2 or 3 rebounds. Hardly dominant no matter what the advanced stats say. Yes, he had a couple good weeks before he went down but so what? Lots of players are capAble of a couple good weeks. Learn the game, then post.
 
I want Oden to go to another team. I want us to punish him everytime we play him. Then after the game; local fans get him pissed drunk and play playstation with him.

Well, him not playing in 394 games seems to be a bigger "look at his stats" argument here.

You are being ridiculous, Eric. You mention a "couple good weeks", but refuse to acknowledge that his CAREER PER is off the charts. Not just a couple of weeks worth

As for why he didn't play more, you need look no further than Ass Clown. Oden easily could have averaged 30 minutes a game, but Nate refused to play him more

I'm not saying he's not injury prone, or risky at best. I am saying when on the floor he was an absolute difference maker

Well yeah and that was why we drafted him. But the pick was a bust because it doesn't matter. He will never be healthy enough to make any difference.

easily averaged? There was this little problem called "fouls" that stopped him from playing games.

Oden averaged 6 fouls PER 36 minutes his last year playing, so by my math he could have easily averaged 30 minutes per game without fouling out

you show me any player who put up decent #'s while averaging 5 fouls per game and I'll retract my statement.
 
Greg Oden had the best rebounding rate in the league, he was a good shot blocker, and he abused many players down low. If he had stayed healthy, he would have been an all-star center.

I can show you great players that fouled a hell of a lot more than Greg did in their rookie season....or first 82 games. He would have gotten better at it
 
One of the Portland radio guys called Oden-to-Miami a year before his last injury.

Shocking.
 
You guys realize that those stats are prior to, what, two knee surgeries? What makes you think he will have even close to the same athleticism?
 
Yes, it was all Nate's fault. He just didn't play Oden enough while Oden sat on the sidelines in a cast.

His size and strength were as much (if not more) important to his dominating presence than his athleticism. Once he got the ball down low, you couldn't body him out of position. Yes, you could double-team and strip the ball loose, but he was starting to learn how to avoid that when he went down for the last time. Just keeping him off the boards was occasionally a full-time job for two players.

Oden could barely jump even in his good stretches with us. He was just too big.
 
greg had amazing advanced stats, but he was even better than that really, his strength destroyed the opposition inside

He's nothing more than a bad memory who didn't take his conditioning at all seriously. The guy admits he drank too much, and he's been photographed multiple times recently in bars.

He also average 6 fouls per/36, and that was while he was supposted "athletic". The guy is 25 years old right now and has had multiple surgeries since his wonderful per/36 season when he couldn't stay on the court because of fouls. If a team wants a big oaf to wave his arms in the lane and foul people, Oxen would probably be a great fit.
 
For comparison's sake, LMA is 27 years-old, and some hand-wringers are concerned he will soon be past his prime.
