The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Friday that Chase Budinger has sustained a cartilage injury to his left knee.

Budinger will visit Dr. James Andrews next week, and Flip Saunders mentioned Budinger could miss six to eight weeks while not wanting to put an exact timetable.

Budinger missed most of last season with a similar injury.

Interesting projection. I wonder how Andre Miller will continue to hold up. I know you just kind of pencil him in as an ironman, but the guy is 37 this coming year, and they relied on him for 2100 minutes last season.

I wish it could have worked out that he retired a Blazer. Every PG who ever plays with LMA needs to watch highlight film of Miller's two seasons in Portland.

Yeah, but at some point you just don't have the quicks to keep up with young'ins. At least not for 2100 minutes/season.

Truth is that I wish Miller could go to a contender. He's lived his entire career in obscurity. And a lot of that is a result of his limitations--never could hit any kind of a jumper. But he has exactly the kind of skills you want in a backup PG on a contending team. He comes in and feeds the good players, and by the time opponent adjusts to his shitty shooting he's out of the game.

It feels like he's had this long, ignominious career of quality without productivity, and it was always meant to culminate in a great playoff run as an old fart. And it just isn't going to happen in Denver.

Miller can still be productive on offense, but hes a sieve and a half on defense these days.

Great to hear! I really liked Frye as a person, mostly how he treated living in Portland and not Tualatin/LO
