I'm interested to track the development of Mitch McGary. I remember I first saw him play in a high school game against Tilton (aka Nerlens Noel's HS) that was on ESPN. He was their #2 ranked recruit at the time, but Noel absolutely dominated McGary, and subsequently (not sure if it was related), McGary plummeted in the rankings.
I remember when McGary chose Michigan over Kentucky, Duke, and North Carolina, he said he did so because he wanted to create a legacy for himself and not just be apart of the school's legacy. It must have been humbling for someone with that mentality to reach the midpoint of his freshman season being widely considered only the third best freshman on Michigan.
Whatever happened between then and now though, he's starting to show some serious promise. I hope he doesn't let his ego go to his head and declare this year, because a another year or two of college ball could really help his game, but he's definitely starting to show all of the potential that everyone saw from him early on in HS.

(BTW - I know that he got blocked by Amir Williams in overtime, and Dick Vitale went on to say something about how he should have finished better, but that was a great play all around, McGary went hard, and Williams just had an incredible block. I don't think there is a player in the collegiate game who could have adjusted to Williams coming in from the weakside.)
