What I know this morning: 1. Cavs 1st option is to trade the pick. Looking for a young veteran + a 2014 lottery pick in return

Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider 4m
What I know this morning: 2. If the Cavs use the No. 1 pick, don't assume they keep it. Will continue to shop it after the draft.

Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider 3m
What I know this morning: 3. Hardest asset to get rt now is a '14 lottery pick. Odds at 95% that NO team gives up one. 14 Draft too strong

Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider 1m
What I know this morning: 4. Looks like the Jazz, Wolves & Thunder most active in trying to move up higher in the lottery ...

It's between Alex Len and Ben McLemore, I'm hearing. I'm gonna go with McLemore. Which of course means the Cavs will take Nerlens Noel.

Sam Amico ‏@SamAmicoFSO 2m
But Cavs don't view Noel's injury like Kyrie Irving's entering draft, source says. Sounds like Noel's ACL will keep him from going first.

Cavs GM Chris Grant big analytics guy. If you're using analytics, Ben McLemore is your guy. So that's my final (wild guess) answer.

I wish I had the time and energy to start a thread of just the draft player discrepancies alone. "He's going to be #1" vs "He's going to fall out of the top ten" This draft would be fun to the huge range of differences.

Milwaukee has discussed switching draft spots (15 for 13) with Dallas to solidify itself to take Russian Sergey Karasev, sources tell Y!

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 35s
Nevertheless, Dallas has multiple suitors for the 13th pick and expect offers to get better in hours before draft tonight.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 23s
Concern for Bucks, though: Do they need to get higher than 13 for Karasev?

You know, no matter how weak or star-less they say this draft is it never ceases to amaze me what that last minute desperation to do "something' will do to a team or GM's perspective.

Celtics trying to pick up another late 1st or early 2nd. Target, I'm hearing, is Missouri PG Phil Pressey. Celts leaning going big at 16.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 50s
Some are shying away from North Texas forward Tony Mitchell, but he could find a landing spot w/ Minnesota at No. 26, league sources tell Y!

Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider 1m
Celtics like Steven Adams (if he falls) and Kelly Olynyk (if he falls) at 16. Also considering Shane Larkin there.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 1m
Flip Saunders worked out Mitchell on his visit to Minnesota and left impressed, sources tell Y! Make no mistake: He has high-lottery gifts.

Sam Amico ‏@SamAmicoFSO 1m
When asking sources, only hearing Cavs want to trade No. 1 pick. May be forced to lower demands today if that's what they ultimately decide.

Whoever drafts Giannis Adetokunbo will be picking him to come to the NBA right away, teams tell me. He has no interest in being stashed.

Jonathan Givony ‏@DraftExpress 39s
Oklahoma City is exploring drafting and stashing a European prospect at 12, but none of Schroeder, Karasev or Adetokunbo are interested.

Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider 2m
Giannis Antetokounmpo insisting he won't go back to Greece next year. Wants to be in NBA now. That's scaring teams away in the lottery.

Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider 2m
Antetokounmpo is 1 to 2 years away from playing minutes on a NBA team. That's a very expensive D League player.

Jonathan Givony ‏@DraftExpress 2m
His new contract actually makes it easier for him to come to the NBA right away, not more difficult. RT @serevei Stash Lucas Noguiera then?

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 4m
The Cavaliers are choosing between Nerlens Noel and Alex Len at No. 1. If they pick Len, Noel could drop to Suns at No. 5.

Alex Rankin ‏@ARankin11 35s
If the Rockets can't find any European prospects who are willing to stay overseas it's very possible T-Rob isn't traded tonight.

General consensus is there's only between 12-15 impactful players worth drafting. Lowest # in many years
I dunno, that seems to be quite a lot. I haven't poured over all the past drafts, but for whatever reason I have the impression that if a draft generates 10 good/great players then that's a pretty good draft class. Sometimes I feel like drafts don't produce more than 2-5 good/great players.
I'm going to have to go look back at past drafts...

http://www.columbian.com/news/2013/jun/27/candace-buckner-column-blazers-mccollum-best-pick/

Through the stretches when shooting guard Wesley Matthews needed to rest his banged-up body, coach Terry Stotts grew so desperate for a two-guard replacement that he inserted 6-10 rookie Victor Claver into the starting lineup. So, imagine having a versatile guard who not only can play alongside Lillard but also can back him up and anchor the wayward second unit. No longer will the Blazers worry about who will emerge from the bench and perform the impossible by actually scoring a bucket — McCollum can be that sixth man, that instant offense.

I think if you pick CJ as a starter then it might not make sense. But we had the worst bench in the league last year and he is instant offense. I guess it boils down to if you are ok with using the 10th pick for a bench player that could crack the starting line-up at some point?

Adams (he'll be a project but worth it) or Zeller “@TylerLuna11: @blazerbanter And if he's off the board which big man do ya like the most?”

LOL and what will they offer? or are they trading down?

That would be sweet. I wonder what the asking price is. Would you trade Leonard + #10 for #1? I like Leonard, but I would do that. It would really have to be for Len though.

Probasketballdraft ‏@Probballdraft 12s
Cavs still burning up phone lines exploring trades for top pick and other picks as well. #NBADraft

Andy Katz ‏@ESPNAndyKatz 55s
A few names to watch later in the first round are Ricky Ledo and Ray McCallum.

Probasketballdraft ‏@Probballdraft 1m
If Cleveland misses out on Karasev it sounds like Reggie Bullock UNC is the backup choice at wing. Would grab him at 19. #TarHeel #NBADraft

Seems high to me. But I dont know his game that well

I think I'd take Oladipo #1. Unfathomable a few months ago.

Not sure I would, but I don't think you trade Leonard in that case, unless you have another center coming in.
