Hearing Phoenix could still go with a PG at 5. Michael Carter-Williams and Trey Burke both considered possibilities.

interesting, that would mean possibly passing on 1 or more of Oladipo, McLemore or Bennett

I hope as many PGs as possible get picked in the first 9. Each one pushes a better player down.

Cavs can keep dreaming about getting a 2014 lottery pick for the top pick this year. Next year's 10th pick is better than this yr's #1.

Think about that....if true....POR is in a really tough spot...either put pieces around LA to make them a contender (not just a playoff team) right away and hope it is enough for him to resign (and forgo 2012 pick in process) OR deal him now, insure you are not a playoff team to keep that 2012 pick.....

I dont think just making the playoffs will appease LA, that is the real problem here and if you make those moves, chances are he could still walk and to make matters worse by doing so, you lost your 2012 pick in a strong draft...

Olshey has his work cut out for him....

This is truly hilarious. As in stupid.

I dunno ... a lotto pick in 2014 is probably roughly equivalent to the 1st pick in this year's draft and if they got a veteran to boot, they theoretically could come out ahead of the game.

Dallas continues to shop #13. Minnesota and OKC want to move up. Memphis, Houston, Golden State, Philadelphia want to add a first-rounder.

10
Shabazz Muhammad
SG/SF UCLA
Freshman6-6222

Could it be a long night for Muhammad? Yes. But it says here a player with his talent won't fall out of the top 10. There is top-pick talent in Muhammad, a physical, 6-6 swingman with terrific reflexes and an array of moves around the rim. Muhammad told me earlier this month he is patterning his game after James Harden, and if he turns out to be anywhere close to the player Harden is, he will be a steal. The Blazers need scoring help on the wing and Muhammad, who got a lot of offense playing off of UCLA point guard Larry Drew last season, could fit in well with the Blazers' Damian Lillard.

Indications around the league the Blazers will keep 10. Had been considered a strong trade possibility because need vets more than youth.

@ #10 he has Muhammed to POR

and Rothstein on CBStv said that if Muhammed was ther POR would not take him....

I agree with the assesment from Mannix...

Bucks are letting it be known that Brandon Jennings is available for the right price.

Gery Woelfel@GeryWoelfel3 minutes ago
If the Bucks do jettison Jennings, look for them to make a major push for PG In free agency.

For people asking about guys possibly going in 2nd round of #NBADraft, I admire your passion. But I don't even know who's going No. 1!

lol...funny but very true this year...

Adrian Wojnarowski‏@WojYahooNBA15m
Virginia Tech's Erick Green made a second trip into San Antonio to workout recently, sources tell Y! He's one of draft's better scorers.

and iI think early in this thread there was a report that he has a guarantee @ #28 to go to SA

Oklahoma City is exploring drafting and stashing a European prospect at 12, but none of Schroeder, Karasev or Adetokunbo are interested.

Wow...NBA.draft.net mock 8.0 has POR taking MCW

Carter-Williams actually makes a lot of sense playing alongside Damian Lillard, a scoring point. Steven Adams has also been mentioned with this pick. MCW offers them an excellent "swing for the fences" type of pick. At 6'6 and with tremendous size, he reminds some of the high school version of Shawn Livingston that many became so enamored with before his tragic knee injury. Though not quite the talent, MCW's ability to set teammates up for baskets is special for a player his size. His length, having a near 6'9 wingspan really helps his cause defensively. He has a lot of work to do on his outside shooting and must prove that he can hang with the speed of today's NBA PGs. He would likely pair well with a small 2-guard like Monta Ellis as he would probably be better suited defending 2 guards while running the point. He's got some off court baggage (shop lifting incident) that will need to be addressed in interviews with teams. Plus, the track record for Syracuse products has not been great in recent years. He's another boom or bust pick who could end up a star or not even making it in the league. In a down draft, Carter-Williams has top 10 potential. NBA Comparison: Shaun Livingston

Maybe a trade asset?

Cavs are doing everything in their power to trade the 1st pick including having the rest of the NBA, media, & fans guessing.

Mike Rice‏@mikerice613h
Really difficult to figure out the order of picking in draft when not sure what Cavs will do at 1. Players will surely fall & trades made

John Canzano‏@JohnCanzanoBFT2h
Outside-in perspective… GM says Blazers need in draft/FA, "a player that can get his own stuff." Roster of primarily jump shooters.

I agree with that assesment, POR needs a player that can create his own shot...

KCP? Bazz? CJ?

I think Burke (if he was there) or even perhaps MCW may be the pick, if Olshey really does go for the best player at that pick (which is exactly what he just said in an interview excerpt that played on the radio).....

Andy Katz‏@ESPNAndyKatz1h
Your four trending picks as of 1 p.m. :): Caldwell-Pope to Minnesota; Porter to Washington; Burke to New Orleans; Adams to Oklahoma City.

KCP? Bazz? CJ?

KCP can create his jumper, but is not a penetrator. Bazz can penetrate, going one direction, but does nothing else. CJ is probably the closest:
McCollum continues to show the ability to get into the paint using changes of speed and direction to keep defenders guessing. Possessing a good first step, but lacking blow by quickness and elite leaping ability, McCollum isn't as prolific at the basket as he is from the perimeter, but he shows good body control and a willingness to draw contact. Finishing at a 56.8% clip at the rim and averaging 6.1 free throw attempts per-game

A mock from a team source: 1.Noel; 2. Oladipo; 3. Porter; 4.McLemore; 5. Len; 6. Burke; 7. McCollum; 8. Bennett; 9. Caldwell-Pope;10. Zeller

Andy Katz‏@ESPNAndyKatz1m
2 p.m. deadline has passed. Any trade that made the deadline would change draft order on the board tonight. Any trade post-2 p.m. wouldn't.
