Siva is a pest, but doesn't really seem to have much effect, and doesn't even look to shoot.
It's probably a good thing that he wasn't looking for his shot, and that's something that his agent probably drilled into his head. He's just a poor decision maker on both sides of the court. He's explosive, but he gambles too much on defense and can play out of control on offense. I don't see him as a "reliable backup point guard" in any sense of the phrase.
I caught the first half of that game, and was it just me, or did that Russian center they had on the bench last season actually look pretty good?
EDIT: Just looked him up... Viacheslav Kravtsov. Didn't play much last year, but he's only 25 and has legitimate size. He's listed at 6'11", and unlike a lot of the guys out there... he actually looked it. The Pistons actually have a pretty decent frontcourt shaping up with him, Monroe, Drummond, and now Josh Smith in the fold. They just need to figure out what to do with their "shoot-first, ask questions later" backcourt.
Carter-Williams looks like he's put a little weight on since college. He's still got a long ways to go. You never know though, Curry's gotten away with it. MCW doesn't have Curry's jumpshot though.
I was gonna say... those are pretty good first day summer league stats... until you get to the 8-23 shooting and 9 turnovers. He's not going to get anywhere near 23 shots per game with Philly next season, and what are 8 assists if you get 9 turnovers in the process? Not to mention, considering how he won't have
that great of a height advantage against real NBA competition, his only other really redeemable stat, the 7 rebounds, also seems watered down.
