Then trade him at 29, you get this is hypothetical right, if we had Nurk/Collins/Porter/Donic next year all at 23 or younger I’d trade him immediately for a high pick or pg that fit the timeline. It’s 1:30 am Wednesday morning on a sports forum...it’s called Fantasy Time.
No, don't trade Dame. That's a horrible idea. C'mon dude.

When lebron leaves they will trade Love, look at the pukes on their roster outside of Love/LBJ. They will need a complete rebuild, are they gonna start that rebuild around a 30 year old Love? Nope

So for a rebuild, why would they rather have Doncic and extra 1sts or McCollum... What do you think..?

"They will need a rebuild, so they trade Love for a 26-year-old McCollum."

-"Makes sense."

"And they attach a Top 5 Pick to it."

-"..."

Why would you keep Dame if he was 5-7 years older than the 4 players I mentioned? Their timelines wouldn’t match up. This is all fantasy time because I doubt we end up with 2 top 5 picks but if we did it would be a waste to keep Dame around while the 4 I mentioned developed when we could trade him and have a 5th(5 starters) who could all grow together.

Those are the centerpieces of the trade, not the whole trade, and yes a 26 year old top 5 SG and local Cleveland kid wouldn’t be bad to start a rebuild around.

Compared to a Top 5 pick in a loaded draft and two other mid firsts...?

Because I don’t think they will go into a rebuild until Lebron actually leaves, if they think there is any chance of him staying by upgrading the roster now they will probably consider it. What helps more the rest of the season, that pick? Love? Or the guy who isn’t hurt and not playing college ball?

The postseason is what matters for them. Not right now. CJ isn't an upgrade over Love for the postseason, so while they not only do they fail to upgrade their team for the playoffs, they get rid of their only recourse from when LeBron leave due to their failure to upgrade the team... It makes 0 sense and it's not gonna happen.

Are you saying my Wednesday 2am posts aren’t realistic? Fine throw in Ed Davis, now can we get 2 top 5 picks?

Right now nbadraft.net has porter and donic going 3 and 4, with a little luck in the lottery or a complete collapse after that trade we could be set up for the next decade. I don’t think we have to worry about the BKN pick, it’s gonna be high.

I want porter badly. I was at the Husky game Saturday and the unicorn from Arizona looks good too but I’m guessing he goes number 1.

Brooklyn pick will not be higher than no. 7 IMO. There are several teams below them who have the incentive to lose games, Brooklyn don't - they just want to get better. I think Sacramento, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and Orlando will surely end up with a worse record than them and I also think Memphis and Phoenix will be worse too. With Porzingis out I also see the Knicks ending up with worse record, which pushes them to no. 9. I think they will be between 7 and 9, with very low chance of getting higher than no. 6.

That's why I find it crazy how much value people put to this pick. I've even seen people suggest that it could get you a superstar - how exactly would a no. 7 or no. 8 pick in the draft get you an established star?

You didn’t read my post where we throw in Ed Davis and then us and BKN both jump into the top 3 by winning the lottery thus giving us the number 1 and 2 picks. You gotta read the whole thread, the reasoning was right there the entire time.

I don’t do geeen font.

I hate Jarrett Jack.

And we might not even get any of them if we end up with no. 9, or the least promising if we end up 7 or 8. Not worth the hassle. Brooklyn's pick is not that great an asset.

Something I was wondering about - in free agency, can you sign back a player that you let go half a year before?

Talking about Clippers potentially letting Williams go now and signing him back in the Summer, for example.

I feel like the clippers have no idea what they are doing and what a rebuild should be or look like

What do you expect from the guy who captained Microsoft into the ground?

Maybe. But in the process you lose the bird rights.

I dreamed we offered Nurk and three 1st round picks for DeAndre Jordan

I cant tell you the outcome of the trade, I woke up...
