Yes, both Walz and Vance served overseas. Neither saw combat time as far as I know.
Yes, Walz retired months before his unit was deployed. He retired to begin his political career. They are trying to make it seem like his unit got notice of deployment and he said nah, I'm retiring and abandoned them. That's not how it happened. A guy in his unit who is voting for Trump even verified this.
This is just some stupid shit and if it's all they have, they are in trouble.
The second Iraq war was two years old when Walz retired. It was well advertised troops needed to be rotated. Reserve units were being called up. Walz was in a position to know where his unit stood in the call up order. Which is probably why so many soldiers in his unit felt betrayed by him. Plus....
Walz was promoted from E8 to E9 with the condition he complete a 2 year course for command segeant major. Walz failed to complete his two year commitment before he retired. Therefore, when he retired, he was dropped in rank back to E8.
There is a huge difference between being stationed in Italy, and Iraq.
A group of sport ocean fisherman I ran with, decided to take Iraq vets fishing, all expenses covered by us.
My Iraq vet was a captain, just home a short time. He was a nervous wreck the entire fishing trip. Every little noise made him tense up. My impression was, he had not slept well in a very long time.
As a war vet I'll be the first to tell you that no enlisted personnel ever feel betrayed by someone regardless of rank, getting out and rejoining the world or retiring as they say.I guarantee you his unit threw him a hell of a party. I was offered E5 to reup and do a second tour in Vietnam and I took the 6 month early out instead and stayed an E3...like Walz, got out and went to college, bought land with my GI bill. Nothing wrong with that and nothing wrong with choosing to stay out of harms way in the military if possible. It's a false dig at a 24 year military career to say he bailed instead of doing 26 years...we disagree about this topic...most career military guys do 20 years and call it a day...he did 24...a hell of a stretch. Vance is a coward to call out his military service or anyone's for that matter. The second Iraq war was two years old when Walz retired. It was well advertised troops needed to be rotated. Your guy JV Vance did 4 years and out as a correspondent.
Who would you like?I do not have a guy, or gal, in this election. We are fucked.
Who would you like?
These soldiers who felt betrayed seem to exist in Republican imagination.
Old fisherman keeps trying to justify supporting Trump eventually. Harris lacked foreign policy experience. Then she lacked executive experience. She had both. Then her VP retired after 24 years.

Unless you served your country…..your opinoin on it doesn’t mean shit.Tim Walz, allowed his state to burn while he fiddled on the roof like Nero, has extreme leftist views, and is also a liar. He's constantly lied about his military career, and not in small ways, but complete fabrications.
Yet will anyone who proclaims to be so concerned about Trump's supposed lies care?

Lot more than sitting going on
Well, those two guys don't seem to like Walz very much.
It seems like they have a valid reason to voice their opinions.Well, those two guys don't seem to like Walz very much.
I like Klobuchar also - she was on MSNBC last night talking about how she was good friends with Walz and how she thought he was a great pick for VP.The only person, in either party, that is a resonable answer to your question, is Amy Klobuchar.
I do not agree with all of her views. But, Amy is the only one that has the qualities needed to bring us all back together. Everyone else is
dividing us.
So, all of us must compromise, and give up the cult agendas and actions, in both partys.
