It’s funny, there’s just no way you guys can get your point across without sounding like smug, pompous assholes.
It might not be the way the point is being presented. It might be the way the point is being taken.
When someone makes a point and even goes through the trouble of explaining it and the response they get is "That's not true" with no further explanation, and then you cite data and facts and again you get the exact same response as if you didn't write anything, it does kind of seem more like the latter is more upset about being ill-prepared to discuss the topic than the former talking down to them on purpose.
In other words, if you don't bother to learn anything about the topics, you probably are going to feel like a child and embarrassed talking to people that did.
I remember all through Trump's first term hearing "F your feelings." Now I'm being told that F-ing someone's feelings when their actions are going to damage the fabric of the country is the actual bad thing. I don't even know what you guys are trying to do anymore. And, from stuff I've seen, it doesn't look like you really do, either.
Sorry if that comes off as smug and pompous, but trying to honestly explain things to people who only are interested in policy as a punchline and seldom offer intellectually honest discussion gets old after 10 years, and that will tend to wind up in the end probably sounding smug and pompous.
Oh, and if it makes me an a-hole for trying to protect at-risk brothers and sisters in this country when they are unnecessarily attacked to scare ignorant people just so already failed policies can be reinstated by already failed legislators, then, yeah, I'll gladly be that a-hole eight days a week.
