Michael Carter-Williams is being traded to Chicago for Tony Snell. Why can't MCW stick with a team? Seems like the former rookie of the year can't find the right fit.

He didn't even seem that great when he did win it.

Watching Minnesota/OKC - hardly any US players involved!

Westbrook and Roberson I guess.

Oladipo is the shooting guard version of Westbrook. They've got guards who are defensive monsters who can't shoot, and bigs who can shoot but can't defend.

He would be the kind of 2-way player we need and fits in with our window. This would be a consolidation trade I could get behind, much more than Blake or Cousins. I'd offer them anyone on our roster besides Dame and C.J. and has many draft picks as it would take.

He's never been in a good situation with a strong leader in NOP. Combine his talent with Dame and C.J. and we'd have our Big 3. And, he's still only 23.

wait wait wait
so you would rather get the guy that cant play a full season, like ever. Instead of the guy that can do 90% of what he can do, plus ad 5% more of things davis CANT do, AND plays full seasons...

interesting
considering how much push back people seemed to have over getting festus due to seeming injury prone, and he is a bench asset, not what would be a sure thing starter...

Sorry, you lost me. Who are you talking about? The other two players I mentioned have played FEWER games than Anthony Davis over the last two years.

Anthony Davis:
2014-15 = 68 games
2015-16 = 61 games
Total = 129 games

Blake Griffin:
2014-15 = 67 games
2015-16 = 35 games
Total = 102 games

DeMarcus Cousins:
2014-15 = 59 games
2015-16 = 65 games
Total = 124 games

If that's your argument, it doesn't look like any of them have been playing full seasons lately. On top of playing only 35 games last season, Blake Griffin couldn't even make it through the first round of the playoffs without getting injured again.

Griffin is 4 years older than Davis, scores and rebounds less and isn't close to the defender Davis is. Griffin is a better passer and used to get more highlight reel dunks. Not so any more. Blake averaged between 2.5 and 2.9 dunks per game his first three seasons. Two years ago, that dropped to 1.25 dunks per game and last season it was all the way down to 1.0 dunks per game. It would appear that age and injury are robbing him of the athleticism that made him a SporrtsCenter Top 10 regular earlier in his career. Just for sake of comparison, the injuries Anthony Davis has received have not been career threatening and have not robbed him of any athleticism. In fact, his dunks per game has never been below 2.0 and his 2.4 dunks per game last season was a career high.

Of course, there is more to playing basketball than dunking, but for a player like Blake Griffin who relies on freakish athleticism for a big part of his game, this is a big red flag. The other big red flag is he's a total asshole and a terrible teammate.

Cousins is an even worse teammate. He's a coach killer and a chemistry killer. He constantly feuds with his coaches and throws his teammates under the bus. He only scores more than Davis because he shoots more. He's has a much higher UGS%, but significantly lower TS% and FG%. Davis is a more efficient scorer, MUCH better defender, a MUCH, MUCH better teammate and 3 years younger.

I said this team needs more 2-way players. Davis is. Cousins and Griffin, not so much I'd take Davis over those other two asshats in a heartbeat.

I was talking about DMC, fuck blake griffin, so least we are on the same page there.

but you have to look deeper than how many games were missed, and see why those games were missed

01/30/2016 Left ankle sprain
11/25/2015 Sore back
11/01/2015 Strained right Achilles
04/07/2015 Sore right foot
03/18/2015 Right calf strain
02/27/2015 Sprained left ankle
01/17/2015 Right ankle sprain
12/26/2014 Stomach illness
11/30/2014 Viral meningitis
02/18/2014 Strained left hip flexor
01/22/2014 Ankle
12/03/2013 Ankle injury
and then getting suspended more recently, that and being sick isn't the same type of missed games as what missing due to injury is. and his sore foot 4/7 he missed 6 games with that, the last 6 games of the season, on a team that clearly wasn't making the playoffs, tank mode to blame maybe?

10/12/2016 Sprained ankle
03/18/2016 Sore left knee
02/27/2016 Sprained right toe
01/25/2016 Concussion
01/08/2016 Back
11/18/2015 Sore shoulder
11/11/2015 Right hip strain
03/19/2015 Sprained ankle
02/21/2015 Sprained shoulder
02/07/2015 Sprained right shoulder
01/30/2015 Sore groin
01/16/2015 Sprained left toe
12/13/2014 Chest contusion
04/09/2014 Back spasms
03/28/2014 Ankle
01/29/2014 Finger
12/01/2013 Fractured left hand
shit going on all over his body, and missed a huge portion due to a season ending injury.

plus, DMC's is over 6 years, the longer list from AD is only over 4...

I am still a firm believer of DMC just needs a better situation, we all know the kings as an organization is kind of a joke.

Damn FAMS^! You are either UNEMPLOYED/NOT MARRIED/OR CURRENTLY BOTH because you got a TON of time to do all that research. I don't know whether to give you props or not! I don't even have time to read all that!

You make it sound like getting repeatedly suspended for conduct detrimental to the team is a good thing.

Yeah, SAC is a fucked up organization, but so is NOP. Yet, we haven't seen Anthony Davis getting suspended, getting coaches fired (he was actually upset when Monty Williams was let go) and throwing his teammates under the bus.

DeMarcus Cousins is a 26-year old grown man who has played 6 seasons in the NBA, but still behaves like a petulant child. He isn't a victim in SAC, he's a big part of the problem.

Would a change of scenery do him good, possibly? Do you want to risk everything on a guy who has openly feuded with multiple coaches and thrown his teammates under the bus after losses? The guy has talent, but he's mentally weak. He doesn't handle adversity well and lashes out at coaches, teammates, referees and opponents. He's a ticking time bomb that goes off at the first sign of trouble. We have no idea how he'd handle the pressure of the post season, he's never been there. At least in his one trip to the post season, Anthony Davis played like a complete stud.

I'd still take Davis over Cousins in a heartbeat. They both come with risk, but I'll take Davis and his nagging injuries (he's never missed more than 21 games in a season) over Cousins and his chemistry destroying attitude.

meh
I don't put much into that
sheed had all sorts of "attitude" issues and I loved him, and after he got a change of scenery he got a ring.
but maybe my liking a guy like sheed is why I like DMC more than others.

but also, again, a guy with nagging injuries, in Portland, historically hasn't gone well...

I see that Leon Wood still sucks ass.

I bet we could hire Rice to whack him and it wouldn't even cost that much.

The guy who led us to our one and only championship had a injury history much worse than Anthony Davis.

24 hours ago, Orlando waived Cliff Alexander. I just noticed.

very true

but since him how's it gone with injury riddled players...?

Davis has never had any of the serious, career threatening injuries that Bowie or Oden had. Those guys both missed entire seasons early in their career. As I said, Davis has never missed more than 21 games. In spite of all his nagging injuries, he's averaged 67 games per year over his first 4 seasons.

He's a true 2-way player, a stud at both ends, and what what we need most. Plus, at only 23, he extends our window. He can play both the 4 and 5. So, we can go big (imagine how much our interior defense would be with Davis at the 4 and Ezeli at the 5 and add Hark or Aminu at the 3) or go small with Davis at the 5, Aminu at the 4 and Crabbe at the 3.

Of course, we would have to give up something to get him, but again that was the whole point of retaining all our guys, to give us the depth to make a consolidation trade and still be able to field team with quality starters at all 5 positions.

In terms of getting 2-way players and extending our window, I'd love to see Davis paired with Vonleh (assuming Vonleh continues to show improvement the way he has been). Voonleh, at 20, proved he can guard staring power forwards. Now, he needs to prove he can score on them, but is making good progress on his offensive game and is still only 21. The problem is, I'm sure NOP would want Vonleh as part of a package to get Davis - unless we offered a package built around C.J. instead.

So, that begs the question, would Olshey be willing to give up C.J. to get Davis? The more I think about it, the more I'd do it. I love C.J. but Davis replaces his scoring and gives up the kind of defense we sorely lack. And, he's younger than C.J. I assume we'd still have at least one of Turner or Crabbe to start at SG.

Watching this ESPN game and they are talking about the Kings new arena. They end up showing the robot security officers that the arena has which sparks a few thoughts. A. That robot isn't stopping anyone from committing a crime. B. Last thing we need is robot security which is capable of stopping a crime.
