Does anyone actually want James Harden anymore? The guy has forced his way off at least three teams now, and seems to never be happy anywhere. If I were an NBA GM, I’d say thanks but no thanks.

Some rumors that Houston was going to max Harden... then Ime Udoka demanded they get defenders instead, so Harden was left without a chair in free agency.

All the Harden to Houston rumors that were going on for 6 months had to be coming from somewhere. I think Harden just another in a long line of pro athletes that don't understand father time or the market that puts them in.

Dude could've stayed and signed a ~200 million deal in Brooklyn and he screwed that all up so he probably going apeshit now realizing he has no way to ever earn all that money back.
Rumors were coming from Harden's camp trying to pressure 76ers for a max contact extension...

I agree, he overplayed his hand

I mean you never know. Portland has strip clubs. Harden might like it here?

Yes thats kind of a funny question - yeah who would you trade James Harden and his $36 million if you were in charge of these other teams? I'd probably trade these players that make over $25 million

Rudy Gobert $41 million
Ben Simmons $38 million
Gordon Hayward $32 million
CP3 $31 million
Lowry $30 million
Poole $28 million
Herro $27 million

So thats 7 of the top 57 paid players he's better than and 50 he's worse than. I kind of hope Harden and Morey both hold firm and this thing blows up with a waste of a season after the trade deadline. I'd love to see both these guys fail.

If you consider the teams needs - I'd say less than that even.

Minnesota -> They have Ant... No need for Harden.
Nets -> Been there, done that.
Hornets -> Possible.
Warriors -> maybe possible, but serious cap issues. Don't think GS would make that trade straight across.
Miami -> Possible for Lowry+Martin. I don't think Heat would give up Herro for Harden.
Poole -> Wizards are on a different timeline.

So really your 7 potential trade partners is down to 2.

I Ubered Harden when I was living in Portland. Only 5 hours after hitting a game winner in Oakland, he was hanging out at a hookah lounge in Portland.
Well there ya go. Legal Pot and loose women.
Thinking he would take a pay cut to play here.

You were the Uber driver?

But….. why?
Probably because there's been so many people that complain about the cost of cable that say they'd happily just pay for ESPN, without realizing what ESPN actually subsidizes on cable networks, and what the price of"just espn" would be

ESPN sucks now. Not worth even close to that much money. Can get better highlights on YouTube. Can get better opinions on podcasts. All they have going for them at this point is NBA games or college football. Not sure how they think it’s worth 30 bucks a month.

Meanwhile, there's a prominent RSN that's turning to podcasts to fill content because it's extremely low-cost for them and the only way they can stay afloat.

I think Amazon is doing this simply for the sports. ESPN has the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAAFB and BB

I can’t really think of any non sporting event worth watching on ESPN other than maybe NFL live and gameday

That being said, rating are up at ESPN

This is an interesting story because It happened in New Orleans and got reported. Guess that Uber driver posted it online.

The ONLY thing I watch on ESPN on DirecTV is NBA or college hoops and football. Thats it. We have ESPN+ to watch our daughter and her friends play college soccer now and that’s it.
