As far as I heard, Miami was refusing to add Jaquez to any trade for Dame
Yeah Miami only offers were made when Jacques was ineligible to be traded. They just wanted to steal Dame from us, and attempted to leverage Dames legacy so we'd "do right by Dame" and accept their shit platter.

Funny how some people are trying to spin this to be a mistake now.

Don't hear them mention how the centerpiece young player that was offered Jovic hasn't even performed at a G league level. 3 games and shot 36% scoring a season total of 14 points.

Cronin clearly made the right decision.

Not even sure why any possible Heat package is still being brought up…

They need to let it go.
I guess I have to be careful saying anything like that? I've been told that is telling people what to do and i'm out of line for doing so?

I don't think they are criticizing Joe as much as pointing out how wrong some fans were about Jaquez Jr. (and they were wrong)
I am personally happy with the Dame trade, but those trashing Jamie this summer clearly never watched him play.

Knew this was coming.

not sure it will matter

Portland now has:

TPE - 8.78M (Lillard)
TPE - 8.3M (Payton)
TPE - 1.5M (Hart)
DPE - 5.78M (Williams)

MLE - 12.4M (max)
BAE - 4.5M (max)

But the Blazers only have 3.5M in margin below the luxury tax threshold. And nothing I've seen from the Vulcans over the last 3 years makes me think Portland would end up paying tax for the current team

seems a waste, but my hunch is that all of those exceptions will end up expiring....unless one can be folded into a much larger trade around the deadline

Are TPEs and DPE, etc, on finite time? Because honestly it'd be good for 2 years from now... But I'm guessing they don't last that long, especially DPEs

Your probably right they won't be used.

However yes we'll have to see at the deadline, would make sense to use the $3.5 mil or whatever of tax space we have to at least get a 2nd or something.

The Lillard exception is probably the "exception" to your list since it doesn't expire until well after the draft and July 2024 free agency. It's much more possible we could use it if we have additional luxury tax space or such next year. Should also have an MLE that can then be used as a trade exception at that time.

Jaquez has always projected to be a decent role player/starter quality player, but does he Jovic make up for the inferior draft capital that we would have gotten from Miami compared to what we got from Milwaukee/Boston?

The Warriors pick if it ends up being a lottery pick is worth more than Jaquez. Brogdon is a better player than Jaquez. Rob is a better player (if healthy) than Jaquez.

We already have so many young guys who would be playing in that same role. Camara, Thybulle, Murray, and Rupert. Plus I would assume that it's highly likely that whoever we draft this year will also be a forward.

ESPN seemed to have odd list on the standings....

OKAY are Thunder
BAG are Kings
LAKE are Clippers
SAME are Grizzlies
HER are Spurs

ENT are Magic
KEY are Cavs
somebody plugged in a Tandy-1000 and it glitched the entire ESPN system.

The Blazers also picked up Toumani Camara and Deandre Ayton in the Dame/Nurk/Little trade with Milwaukee and Phoenix.

Would Miami have traded a Grayson-Allen-type player to Phoenix?

Would Phoenix have wanted anything from Miami?

Grayson Allen is 3rd in both minutes per game and total minutes played for the Suns, at $9 million.

News: 9 hours ago. Wembanyama (hip) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Pelicans, Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News reports.

Spin: Coach Gregg Popovich signaled after Thursday's loss to Atlanta that Wembanyama's status was uncertain for Friday's matchup, and the No. 1 overall pick will officially be sidelined for the second half of the back-to-back set. Wembanyama will have a few days to rest before the Spurs face Minnesota on Wednesday, while Cedi Osman and Charles Bassey could see increased run against New Orleans.

Wembanyama is listed as day-to-day and will probably return in the next game at Minnesota.

So the #1, #2 , #3 and #4 picks have all missed games due to injury about 18-19 games into the season.
