So I watched this and am shocked how many times he has done this to Steven Adams. It's like because Adams is out this year he decided to go after Nurk?

I mean he’s like a modern day Mahorn, Oakley or Laimbeer. Difference being those guys acted that way back then and it was fisticuffs. I’ve yet to see anyone challenge Green. Then again it is kind of a league of perimeter oriented pansies. I’d like to see if Green can actually go toe to toe with someone instead of it just being a cheap shot and that’s that.

I'm pretty sure that needs a 10-20 game fine. It's actions like that, that lead to brawls. I think it happened so quickly and away from the ball that no one had time to react. The only reason that wasn't a brawl is because it put Nurk down. If Nurk would have still been standing, he would have gone after Dray and the benches would have cleared. Again I think given his history it should be closer to a 20 game suspension but at least a 10 game suspension for a strike like that from any NBA player to another.

It'll be a lot easier for the NBA to hurt his team when they're not a title contender. They're not even in the play-in as of today.

It would be so NBA if they announce a team in Vegas before they announce a team in Seattle.

It's also embarrassing that Vegas now has 3 teams (with a 4th and 5th on the cusp) and Seattle gets an NHL team before Portland does anything.

It's typical, and why many think there's never going to be another team in Portland. There's no drive.

How is it embarrassing? Vegas is the 5th most visited place in the world. Taxes from tourists can fund the stadiums and arenas.

It's also easy and relatively inexpensive to visit from Portland.

I've used MyVegas to visit Vegas for the last 10 years. Free stay at Bellagio, free buffet, free shows, free money to gamble... thank you very much!

the NBA has had a decade to come down hard on Draymond for his repeated dirty plays. And by repeated I mean a couple dozen. Why should anybody think this time will be different and he'll get a major penalty?

Isn’t their current arena less than 20 years old? The Moda Center is damn near 30 years old, what does the league think about our old ass arena then? Yeesh

don’t be shocked if we hear the whispers that we will need a new one in the next few years

whatever it is, there's no place in basketball for his antics. he just comes across as fake tough, tbh.

Not sure this response was sincere?

I believe that he might not have meant to hit Nurk that forcefully but is Dray trying to sell us the story that he didn't know where Nurk was and that he didn't mean to have his arm out instead of up like it is when he he flails all the time and doesn't make any contact? If that just hits Nurk in the shoulder it probably just starts a fight instead of knocking Nurk to the ground but Dray did mean to hit Nurk. I do believe that he maybe didn't intend to strike Nurk in the head but just like there have been times where his knee found groins but were only intended knees not intended low blows, the dude does violent shit that has no business on a basketball court and does it with recklessness and has done it way too much. Suspend him for 10-20 games and send him a clear message that while this is a contact sport it is not a combat sport... he doesn't seem to make that distinction.

The embarrassment has nothing to do with Vegas and 100% to do with Portlands inability to do anything

The Moda has been maintained and upgraded. There is nothing wrong with it. The money would be better spent developing the area around the Moda. The biggest reason to replace the Moda is so we can widen I-5 to 4 lanes in each direction instead of the current 2 lanes. But that is a problem with the placement of the arena and not the condition of it.

I would like to here what @THE HCP has to say about OKC's arena.

Oh ok just wondering why the hell does okc already need a new arena when that arena is less than 20 years old.. but makes sense

I think they'll expand by two teams, I don't think Mexico City is in play. I think they'll announce Vegas and Seattle at the same time. They'll reorganize divisions and send the Wolves to the Eastern Conference.

Two arenas means NBA games will no longer interfere with the rodeo. OKC, all rodeo, all the time!

Why the Wolves? Should be the Grizzlies.

But Ja got 25 games for nothing close to this bad. NBA should suspend Dray for the rest of the season honestly.

Memphis is at least close to other teams in the west, somewhat. Minnesota is so far away from all of them, but super close to Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee,

Shouldn’t Portland need to focus on their MLB stadium first?

So do players lose the money that they would earn in games they are suspended for?
I’ll bet he feels a 20 game suspension if they do?

It’s not the league that wants a new arena, it’s the team. Their arena is damn nice, not sure why they want a new one. More suites I’m assuming.
Moda is one of the older yet one of the nicer ones in the league. Very well maintained. As well as PHX. Well taken care of. There are quite a few that are way newer and rundown already. Philly for example, it’s a shithole.

Not sure what you’re asking here. Players do not get paid for missed games.
