I guess I'm one of the few who is unimpressed with rondo. I think he would be a bad fit here and we run the same system as Dallas. That team was great with Jason Kidd and jason terry. Rondo is nothing like those two players offensively.

This will go down as a bad move for Dallas. They don't have any size in their frontcourt after Dirk/Chandler.

What's their playoff rotation going to be?

Rondo / Harris
Ellis / ?
Parsons / Jefferson?
Dirk / Villanueva?
Chandler / ???

That starting 5 doesn't even scare me THAT much.

Monta Ellis isn't really like either of those players either, though.
Carlisle's a pretty smart offensive coach. I imagine he will find a way to fit him in.

So this Brendan Wright guy, who is soooo good... is now going to be replaced by a guy whose last blockout came when he was wearing a suit last year with golden state? okay...
 
Not sure I like the trade for either team, honestly... and, as a fan of neither team, I LOVE when that is the case. For Dallas, I don't think the fit is going to work as well as most are predicting, they've lost some key depth, & their backcourt is microscopic. And, no Mags, the corpse of Jermaine O'Neal is NOT going to fix their depth issue. For the Celtics, that's a pretty piss-poor "rebuilding" OR "re-tooling" package, any way you stack it.

I agree for the most part but I think the Celtics actually are doing it right. Wright and Crowder are two hustle guys that can be had for cheap and they have a plethora of picks right now along with players primed to move.
 
Tyson Chandler is a better basketball player than Andrew Bogut.

They gave up two really good bench guys in Wright and Crowder. All they have coming off their bench now is Barea.

Also, Greg Smith...he's no good. Rocket fan here (As some of you know :P) but Smith as the back up center is horrible. He's a foul machine that can't stay on the court. He does have the occasional good game sprinkled throughout his career but the Western teams have some crazy good frontcourts.

Just look at your own team with LMA, ROLO, and Kaman. Memphis. SAS. LAC. Rockets with Dwight/Jones/Dmo...they are going to get hammered down low and a rebounding PG is a nice little bonus to have I guess.

Yeah the more I think about this deal the more I see this being a problem.
 
Wtf?!?! Paul George's cousin just delivered my appliances. He said Paul couldn't play worth a shit until he got into high school because he was short
 
I think Dallas is fucking up by doing this trade. If anything they should have insisted the Celtics took Felton. Rondo can't shoot a jumper and can't make freethrows. It's a bad fit. He's playing with older guys now who don't run much. I think it's a bad, bad, match for them.

Which team IS a good fit for a PG who can't shoot? I give Rondo props. He's been a starter in the two NBA Finals. Good trade for Dallas. PG was their weakness. Makes it tougher to make All Star team in West now. Just what we needed- another great PG. I think we can still beat them though.
 
I love and hate this move:

*Morey and Rocket fans shit the bed. They've been talking about Rondo for years.

*The Mavs were great before this trade and gave up no starters. Rondo is an elite PG.

Rondo couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. That seems relevant in the Mavs' offense.
