I have a trade idea:
Batum to Denver for Chandler and Hickson. All players involved have one year left, but Chandler would be an upgrade over Batum.

Hickson may suck as a starting center, but based on the way he played in Portland, I think he'd be a pretty darn good backup PF. If he can't beat out t-rob or freeland for minutes...whatever, he only has one year left.

How about Meyers Leonard for Chandler? Keep Batum and bring Chandler off the bench.
Anyone find it ironic that Mo Williams and Troy Daniels are on the same team now?

I didn't think of that. That's hilarious.

ehh I'm not much of a fan of Hickson.

With your track record, that means they'll win the championship this year or next.

My track record? You mean like how I predicted virtually our exact record and seeding last year? You mean that track record?

Article is tldr, but posted for the laugh.

I didn't read it but I'll still try to paraphrase:
Okay listen now, here's the thing about the New York Knicks. I'll tell you a thing or two about the new York Knicks, okay. The New York knicks aren't very good at basketball. See, it starts here at the pick and roll. The Knicks don't run a good pick and roll, okay. And Caramel Antonio, he's banged up. You can't win when your star player is banged up, alright.

How many 7 footer's can do that move at the 2:11 mark of that video?

I totally agree, Rondo has taken more shots than Dirk has in his first 3 games as a Mav. That's BAD basketball.

He also can't cover the plethora of good point guards in the west.

I feel like that is the only valid argument at this point. Gotta give the Mavs time to work Rondo into their system before you can claim they will play bad ball with him at point. We all know how big a change it is to add a new PG to the offense. It's like Ulysses S. Grant being traded to the confederates before the civil war.

Houston promising josh smith a starting role sounds like the kind of move that would get somebody fired. Something the rockets need to do if they want to be relevant. I'm probably sounding redundant at this point, beating the "rockets need to clean house" drum. But honestly I hope they don't. I wouldn't mind seeing them waste years trying to become a contender.

That being said if somehow smith can make it work in Houston all I have to say is ****.

God I hope this happens... this screams Detlef Schrempf and Rod Strickland to Portland in 2001.

Except I have a feeling that the Rockets players WANT Smith to join their squad. At the very least, we can assume D-Ho does, and I'm willing to bet he carries a little bit a of cache in that locker room. The whole key for them will be convincing Smith that he needs to be a defense & energy guy, rather than an offensive focal point. If he's willing to take that role, he could be huge for them.

I was just trying to think of someone the Nuggets might want to get rid of to make the contracts match. The real point is trying to find an upgrade at SF over Nic Batum.

Seems like Anderson Varejao is out for the year. The Cavs will be desperate to get any kind of rim protection. I would guess Dion Waiters and the Memphis pick is what they will try to dangle.

Do not think it is worth giving them Freeland and Claver for Waiters and the pick - but it works within the CBA.

Btw, it won't work. You can hack-a-Howard and smith

We didn't trade away D-Mo or anything. It's a minor risk considering it is a one year deal and it is for 2 million.

No one really knows if T-Jones will be back (although last I know, signs were good) so at the very least we don't have to play Dorsey or Black much any more and that's good enough for me right now. Our front line was really thin, if Jones does come back it suddenly becomes a glut. A nice problem to have.

The issue with Smith is he will Sulk if he doesn't get starter minutes. He is poor at decision making and he doesn't have a shot he doesn't like, shooting at a sub 40 clip.

The other issue is Harden and his need for a stretch offense. It's no secrete that Harden has more efficient games when Howard was out because they used shooters to keep defenses to cheat off their man and double Harden.

To me, Harden is a better version of Roy. Roy had trouble when players left their man to take the ball out of Toy's hand. This will be no different with Harden.

If anyone on this forum claims it wasn't a good signing then they are fooling themselves. That's a great player for nothing. I hope it doesn't work out, but I'm not convinced it won't.

Smith guarding LMA would have been a lot different than Jones guarding LMA. Regardless of what Smith does on the offensive end, HOU got a lot better on the defensive end.

This is a very low-risk, high-reward situation. I hope it doesn't work out, but the worst case scenario is a net-zero while the best case scenario is a major improvement.

Portland fans were ecstatic when we signed Rod Strickland and Shremp for nothing mid season. Then we went on March Implosion.

I disagree... Remember that Howard and Smith are best friends. If Smith is hurting the team and McHale benched him, Howard will sulk as well. We are talking chemistry here.
