Jesus, if OKC gets Brook Lopez, they would be the favorites to get out of the west every damned year. And without giving up Reggie Jackson or Steven Adams? It would also probably keep Westbrook and Durant from bolting because they'll be perrenial contenders.

Exactly. Not sure why some of the posters above are not realizing this.

i would think adams would have to be in the trade, the previous iteration had bk getting lance stephenson

in any event this would put okc at around 80+MM next year, if they dare

Yes, we'll all be terrified for the 20 games every year where Brook looks like he's finally injury free... until he breaks his leg or foot or ankle or something.

He played 246 games in his first three seasons, and 96 in the next three. And who's going to give him the ball? WESTBROOK?!

Perkins is solid defensively and fits OKC better IMO. Lopez is an offensive upgrade, defensive downgrade even if he is underrated as a defender, which I dont think is true.

Ummm... NO! Perkins flat out sucks at both ends and everywhere in between. Have you actually watched this guy play the last two years? He can't guard anyone and couldn't score 10 ppg in a 6th grade CYO league. Last year he was the worst starter in the entire NBA, by FAR with a PER of 6.3. And before you break out that "solid defensively" nonsense, go to 82games.com and look at his Net Production numbers from last season. His own production/48 was 6.8. His OPP production/48 was 18.2 for a Net Production of -11.4. That's monumentally bad. He can't guard anyone. He is slow, unathletic and uncoordinated. They should have amnestied him when they had the chance.

If they get Brook Lopez and he manages to stay healthy for just ONE game, he'll help them win one more game than Kendrick Perkins this year.

Lopez trade to OKC doesn't make sense. They already have Adams and he's better defensively. OKC is panicking. I'm not sold on them making the playoffs anymore this year. Denver just tied them for 10th place and the Kings are on their heels.

Are you kidding me???? Lopez to OKC would make them MUCH better, IF he's healthy. They NEED more scoring and it needs to come from the inside. Last year in the playoffs, when Ibaka was injured, they were playing 2-5 offensively. With Ibaka out, they had three starters that averaged less than a combined 15 ppg. As good as Durant and Westbrook are, they can't make up for a complete lack of scoring from their other starters. Plus, when playing 2-5, it makes it easy for other teams to double both Durant and Westbrook - whoever has the ball.

Yeah, Adams is better than Perkins. Big deal, so am I, but he's not a serious scoring threat. Brook Lopez is one of the best scoring big men in the game - WHEN HEALTHY. His inside scoring would help collapse opposing defenses, which would make it even easier for Durant and Westbrook to score on the perimeter. If they get Lopez and IF he's healthy during the playoffs, they would be a very scary team. Much better suited to the post season than in previous years. They would match up much better with all the other top teams in the West (POR, GSW, MEM, LAC, etc.).

The strongest argument for the Blazers to get the elder Lopez is to keep him away from OKC.

That contract is a bitter pill to swallow. I does end fairly soon though I suppose.

I don't know what you guys' opinions on CP3 are but I got word from some one who came across and had a conversation with him that he was nice, and respectful. I guess his nefew plays for a school in the Portland area and was at one of their games.

I have no problems with cp3. He might flop a little bit but it's not like Harden and over the top. He'll retire a Hall-of-Famer, and he always seems to kill the Blazers.

Cp3 is so Damn smart. Fans can hate them all they want, but he knew that Wes and Kaman would run him over and foul him, stopping our momentum and getting him to the free throw line. I'd love it if dame learned to use that awareness

Daye played SF in college but his best position in the pro's is probably stretch 4.

Right now my best case scenario in the playoffs is Memphis and SA against eachother first round on the other side of the bracket with golden state over there as well. I think GS will run through a lot of teams but think we stand one of the beats chances against them in a series.

so they got Nerlens who didn't go #1 b/c he couldn't put on weight after his leg injury, and Embiid who eats himself to 300# b/c of his back injury.

The Sixers are a joke, tanking isn't going to make them a good team in the end.

I've heard Willie Mays was pretty bad.

Jordan in 2002-3 wasn't awesome.

Hell, Peyton Manning getting booed off the field by his own fans last week was pretty bad.

Dan Marino looked wooden, and then losing 66-0 or something in his last game?
