"Official" Around the NBA January 2015

We'll be rooting for any eastern team to beat our western competition for...6-8 weeks I'm thinkin'

Rockets led by 16 points a few minutes ago. Now they're only up 3, Phoenix ball.

Kyle Korver may go 50-50-90.

True, and that will be a first for a starter (Kerr did it in 96 off the bench), but he only takes 8 shots a game, and is not, by any stretch, the focal point of an offense. It's a much more impressive feat for a volume shooter like Curry, which is why I factored in the FGA/g caveat.

TIE GAME. Rockets in disarray. OKC could lose a game in playoff race if Phoenix pulls this off.

Of course. They're both impressive.

Klay Thompson just scored 37 points.

In the 3rd quarter.

It's almost as if Karma thought Kingspeed spoke for us all.

Wow. That probably clinches an All Star spot for Klay. Good thing Kobe's absence opens up a spot.

Too bad. Klay didn't beat Kobe's record for threes in a game. He was off by one.

What do we have to do to get CJ to grow 3 inches and hit threes like klay?

Well, probably not giving up no him would be a good start. Not saying he's going to be Klay (hell, a poor mans Klay Thompson would be huge), but hopefully CJ can turn into a decent backup soon.

Hell, just by waiting three years we got a Rich Man's Spencer Hawes this year... Poor Man's Klay Thompson isn't impossible.

I see no reason why CJ can't become Jason Terry esque.

Meanwhile, Splash Bros >>>> Rain Broz, absolutely unreal performance by Klay

Confidence is huge. Jason terry in his prime was a gutsy player, CJ lacks that win at all cost mentality when he plays.

THIS. Very well said, and I totally agree. If he had that killer instinct on offense like Dame (and even Wes has) he would probably be a perfect 6th man for us. But so far we haven't seen that from him. He did have those couple games where he had what, like almost 20 points? Maybe he'll get some PT with these injuries and get his confidence back.

I just rewatched the 3rd quarter with Klay Thompson.

It was like watching a video that someone edited to show only the makes. It was crazy.

And with 3 minutes left, he "only" had 18 in the quarter. Something to behold, for sure. I mean, he hit EVERYTHING. He got fouled with like 10 seconds left and he was in Lillard range at the 3... the bucket didn't count, but he hit that too. lol.

Sad. Brandon Jennings got hurt. He looked really in pain. Hurts the Pistons.

Elijah Millsap has reached an agreement to sign a three-year contract with the Utah Jazz, his agent Daniel Hazan told RealGM.

Millsap’s deal will be guaranteed for the remainder of the season and holds two years of team options for the Jazz.

In nine games over two 10-day contracts with the Jazz, Millsap has averaged 5.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and one steal in 20.6 minutes per appearance, providing an energetic force on the wing. He is the younger brother of NBA All-Star Paul Millsap.

Millsap started the season with the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA D-League, averaging 20.1 points and earning a call up.

Out of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Millsap has spent three separate NBA training camps with the Oklahoma City Thunder (2010), Los Angeles Lakers (2011) and Milwaukee Bucks (2014). He has spent most of his professional career pushing for a permanent call up in the D-League.

Should be the last 82 game season in the NBA. Probably will be.
