WHAT

GEORGE HILL MVP CANDITATE LOL

BENO LOL

LMA OVER CURRY LOL

LILLARD OVER CURRY LOL

i'm being out shitposted here smh
Pacers best team in the league lately. George Hill carrying them. Pacers are suddenly a title contender. Without George Hill they wouldn't have a chance to make playoffs.

Since you like one game sample sizes and weight so heavily on them. (And no, a valid excuse is not that Houston sucks, or some derogatory Houston term you would like to say)

Udrih against the rockets tonight: 9 minutes, 1-4 shooting, 2 pts, 0 assists, 0 rebounds.

ONE GAME SAMPLES ARE AWESOME. :)
Grizzlies will go as far as Udrih takes them. What is a better definition for MVP?

Holy shit. Raptors back from 19 down. Lots of comebacks this year. 20 point leads (or in this case, 19) aren't safe.

Im looking at them. His per/36 is 14/5

His per/100 is 21/8

His WS is .127

I fail to see how these are MVP worthy, or even the best on his team. lol.
You're looking at the wrong advanced stats.

2 years ago, Aldridge grabbed 9.1 rebounds per game. Marc Gasol only averages 8.
Different amounts of minutes. Their per-36 figure is almost identical--8.6 for Aldridge in 2013, 8.5 for Gasol now. For their careers, Gasol's TRB% is 13.8, and Aldridge's was 13.2 at that point (and is now up to 13.8 after averaging over 16 the past two years).

The point stands: if Gasol's rebounding (alongside Randolph) makes him soft now, Aldridge's rebounding (alongside Hickson) made him soft then.

Somehow I have a feeling he'll downplay the advanced stats here, after just saying that advanced stats are what make Udrih an MVP candidate.

I can't believe that sentence has been uttered with nary a laugh.

No wait, I laughed.

Mo Williams 14 assists tonight. He's been playing great for Charlotte.

Per36 means nothing. A useless meaningless stat. Doesn't show AT ALL how a player would play with just 36 minutes unless he's playing just 36 minutes.

And the others that he used? How about those?

When the players in question are playing 12 mpg, sure. When they're playing 34 & 38 mpg, it's absolutely reasonable to normalize using per 36, or per 100 possession.

But I guess it's easier to hold on to your delusions if you just arbitrarily dismiss every stat that refutes them.

thanks

That thread just appeared on my screen and I started typing.

This thread is called around the NBA in March, not around RipCity2 today.....back on topic. Westbrook looks like he's getting another triple double....and losing again only losing to Philly

Crazy, I think all he cares about are the triple doubles. With Teague, the Thunder would win tonight but he wouldn't have flashy stats,
