But even then you look at that title run in 15 and see who was the MVP of the finals.
It wasn't Curry.

Might have to go all the way back to Tony Parker days, but even then does that really count because of Duncan, Ginobli, and Leonard?
If we can get our hands on one of these versatile freak wings/guards, that would be ideal. Would Philly trade Simmons for CJ and pieces? He seems undervalued but the kind of guy to put next to Dame for a real title run

I think the trade Philly should do is Embiid for AD.
Simmons I don't think they should ever trade.

Watching the GS Rockets game.
Having a hard time watching this and thinking about all the crap the Blazers get on this board about the plays and stagnant offense.
Literally 7 mins into this game and neither team has run any offense. They are out there playing rat ball and jacking up threes.
Portland’s offense is way better.

It's no too stupid to say Milwaukee, Denver, and Portland are playing the best ball so far.

Watching Dame get taken out, Steph sucking and getting dinged up, CP getting constantly injured, and Kyrie becoming largely ineffective, Im learning something that I suppose has always been true.

It is INCREDIBLY difficult to win a title with a small player as your best. The physically imposing guys are the ones able to withstand the blows and wear/tear of grueling playoff runs.

The ones thriving now are KD/Giannis/Kawhi/Embiid/Jokic/ etc etc. When was the last time a team led mostly by a PG won a title? GS in 15?
You use Embiid (who also always gets hurt) and Jokic as examples, when was the last time a team led by a center won anything? Farther back than 2015. Wasn't Kawhi banged up all season last year?

I will give you KD, but of course he plays with several all stars so you can't double him.

perhaps im too caught up in the moment. Embiid is always banged up but the top 5 players in PER this playoffs are:

Kawhi/Jokic/Giannis/Embiid/KD

Last year: Lebron/Giannis/AD/KD/Harden

2017: Kawhi/Lebron/CP/Russ/KD/ Conley was 6th, Steph 7th/

First appearance of PGs, but CP/Russ/Conley all lost in the first round. I don't think my theory is off base here. Big guys or freakishly tall, physically imposing guys both succeed individually and win in the playoffs.

Total flop by Green right there. Embarrassing
Went down and stayed down like he was hit hard in the head. Looked to me like he was slightly grazed

Harden just knocked Draymond Green half out. I guess even Harden does something good once in a very long while.

Ive seen you building on this theory for a few days and I kind of agree with you. I think its about officiating at least partially, its much easier for those bigs to play through contact than smaller lighter players. All of a sudden every year in the playoffs defenders get away with a lot more contact and that really slows down guards.

Kyrie, Steph and Dame all playing so bad right now.

We can all spin it a lot of different ways. It seems like there were big teams who never got out of the first round this year. (i.e Utah) GS has dominated the league the last several years.......except for the year Kyrie and LBJ won. Durant did not win shit until he joined them. The Warriors were not physically imposing when they first won.

Kawhi or Embiid may go farther in the playoffs this year than Dame, but not both. Same with Harden or Durant.....one will but not both. It will be interesting to see what their fans will say the reason was?

l dont think his point is that guards cant win, its just that there job is really tough come playoff time, and bigger guys who can dominate physically have unique advantages that guards dont. I wish Nurk was healthy...

Im not watching this game but from the updates on my Phone Houstons been quite aways ahead all game and now its a 3 point game GS ball? lol

His point was: "It is INCREDIBLY difficult to win a title with a small player as your best"
My point is it is hard for everyone to win a title. HOF players surrounded with lots of talent seem to do best.
Make it so Dame is rarely double teamed like how Durant benefits in GS, and Dame will have an easier time.

Well duh.

That's what I'm saying. It's not a coincidence that Dame/Steph/Kyrie/CP have slowed down in the second round.

CP played great tonight. He was all over the court. Forget about his stats, he played great.
Steph went for 30. Time will tell if he has slowed down.
