You know ultimately what I believe is wrong with Houston, management all the way down is that theyve made beating a team their goal instead of winning a championship. Weve all heard the Morey comments about how much they want to beat the warriors, that everything they do is to counter GS. GS is in their heads, because Houston is so fixated on beating one team and GS is like yeah Houstons good but were aiming higher than beating Houston.

Its bad management to try to beat a team. I think of it like in the NFL the steelers all they want is to beat New England, all the teams in the AFC north are that way too. They’re trying to figure out how to beat one team, while the other teams trying to figure out how to win championships.

I don't think the Warriors are better without Durant, but I think the drop-off without Durant isn't that high. Durant's an amazing player, but Curry doesn't reach his max potential playing with Durant. They lose Durant, but they'll get the two-time MVP version of Curry which they really haven't had during Durant's time with them. They have a smaller margin for error (no Durant to bail out an off-night from other players) but their top gear isn't that much worse. They're not quite the same as the 73-win version--bench is worse, Barnes was a useful player--but the principles of that team are still there and can still play at an extremely high level.

Switched over to A's game. They announced Warriors had won series and would face winner of Denver/Portland, then started talking about Dame. Guess I know who they want to see.

Portland is not only better overall story than Denver in my unbiased opinion, Portland/GSW has way better story lines. Klay son of Mychal, Blazers former top pick. Curry v Curry. Dame returning to home town for last games being played in Oakland. They can even rag on Blazers for not drafting Durant.

Denver/GSW is just 1 v 2. Whooptedo
Well Denver could point to the fact we've played GS twice in the playoffs already in the last 4 seasons and are a combined 1-8 against them.

Yeah, I wasn't commenting on that just that Portland would have more story lines than Denver. Those story lines have mostly been played out already and weren't pretty for us.
I know, you werent commenting on that, but thats what I keep thinking about heh.

Imagine if Damian hit the game winner in Oakland in game 7 of the WCF, that would be one hell of a sendoff. Doubt that would happen, still need to beat the 7 foot fat, white, kool-aid stained lipped James Harden and his teammates.

...speak it into existence, that's what Lillard would/will do!

Anyone else catch James Harden: “I know what we gotta do, well figure it out this summer”.
So my question is does he know what they got to do? Or will they figure out what they gotta do this summer?

I know the answer but I'm not telling!

That statement is usually only made by someone who indeed does NOT know the answer.

That's my fantasy.

well, in the real late 80's, the Bulls built their team with the idea of beating the Pistons. 6 championships in 8 years seems to indicate it was good management

Neither team is the same though. We are a much better team than what we were back then and GS ( especially without Durant) isn't as good as the team that last beat us in the playoffs.

Correct, but I was responding to a post about there being story lines about Klay being from Portland and Dame being from Oakland. By the 3rd time you play someone in the playoffs those story lines aren't really meaningful.

Horrible hire for LA. Jason Kidd as assistant too? LeBron is gonna demand a trade. I can see it now... Knicks get Zion, trade him for LeBron, Kyrie and KD join the Knicks in FA.
They can’t trade for LeBron and afford to sign those guys. I like a LeBron for Zion trade though. LeBron needs to go back to East to dominate and Lakers need to build around young core.

I think it’s theoretically possible, Zion, Thomas, and Ntilikina for LeBron would maybe open up enough space for KD and Kyrie. Considering the Knicks would still have young guys like Knox, DSJ, Trier, and Robinson... they could be a threat.

Why is everyone on here and the medias assuming NY get Zion. Top 3 team have equal chances

It wouldnt. LeBron and KD making 70% of the cap conbined with Kyrie making 30%? Not feasible. Theyd have to try to sign Kyrie and KD then get close ebough to match salary for LBJ in a trade.
