So you're skirting around your stance? You specifically mentioned 3 teams while asking why any other team would attempt to outbid them. By naming those 3 teams you're implying all other teams, including Portland, fall into the other category.

Skirting what stance? My "stance" was that Davis can, if he chooses, impact what team he was traded to. The three teams I mentioned were the ones that I assumed would and could bid the most--I was asking if you thought anyone would try to outbid those three teams if Davis specifically came out and said he wouldn't re-sign there. I certainly don't think so. I didn't name those three teams as teams Davis likes (I know he likes LAL, but I have no idea how he feels about Boston or New York) and thereby consigning every other team--including Portland--into teams he doesn't. I was naming the three teams I expect to bid the highest.

That was my take also. I most certainly could have been wrong. But i stretched it into that meaning also.

I've hated Terrance Jones since the story of him stomping on a homeless person came out. After his cheapshot, this was well deserved.

The dancing and showboating is hilarious though.

Id be ok with the retaliation to Jones (that groin shot was cheap!), if it was to his face. Dont dance and act like you did something special when you cheap shotted him from behind, do it to his face or you’re just a coward.

CJ + Zach for a chance at a long-term addition of AD? That fits the definition of medium-risk/giant-reward move. Blazers have lost 10 straight playoff games to Golden State and it sure doesn't look like the Warriors will be any worse than they are now during the rest of Dame's prime.

A Dame-CJ-Mo-Zach-Nurk lineup doesn't change the dynamic enough, but a Dame-Hood-Mo-AD-Nurk lineup very well might. And if the Blazers can't re-sign AD? Then they'd likely be taking a step back from falling-short to falling-more-short; that's the medium risk part and saying it's medium might even be overstating things, but they'd have an opportunity to re-set the roster

unfortunately, if the Pels are trading AD, they'd be going a direction that would make them look cross-eyed at CJ's value. I think the Knicks may have a much better package to offer. In that case, what Portland should look at is trying to land Jrue Holiday. A three guard lineup of Dame-CJ-Jrue would be fantastic, especially if CJ's hero-ball mentality could be moderated. Simons + draft picks + expiring contract(s) might be a competitive offer

But I'm not trading away Simons future with us for only incremental improvement.

I didnt take it that way. I just wouldve liked it if he was gonna get him back to square up and go. I mean I understand Jones shot was so cheap, and the retaliation also cheap. Just seems so weird to me dance and act tough when you did nothing but blindside a guy.
