I thought Chris Paul was done for. Doesn't look like it. All the better to celebrate some Blazer victories over the Suns.

Phx looking brutals. Splitting the back to back would be a huge plus for Portland imho. Esp. if no Dame. Without Dame it will be really hard for Ant to take the reigns both nights.

At this point, it’s hard to think of a trade scenario that would work, seeing as abunch of our guys can’t be traded till next year.

No one at this point wants to get rid of Sharpe. Personally my highest offer would be Ant + Nurk + Nas + 1 to 2 unprotected 1sts—I’m not gutting the entire team for him. The Lakers got a chip from their all in trade but are paying for it right now. I’m already worried about Minni. The Nets f’d up on trading all those 1sts for Harden. The Mitchell trade is the only one I’ve liked so far. And although it’s a seemingly great deal now, we won’t know till years down the line.

But then again, I’m more attached to 1st rounders than most.
We would need Curry and Mills to come to Portland in that deal.

Dame/GP/Mills
Sharpe/Curry
Durant/Hart
Grant/Winslow
Eubanks/Walker

Could that team win it all this year?

It’s going to come down to coaching.

Warriors are just bored and waiting for the playoffs to start
Will they make the playoffs? Right now, they’re not even in the play-in and there are a lot more contenders in the West than we thought this year. If OKC decides it wants playoffs this year, it will get playoffs. This is not the year you want to get off to a bad start.

Phoenix should be scared of us. We’re the only team they can’t beat. Let’s get a sweep.

Put me on record saying that I doubt this is true.

The following statement is true though. Said that before the season started. West is deeper this year than we’ve seen in some time.

OKC just doesn’t have what it takes to control their destiny IMO. An average team which has been overachieving to start the season.

We barely beat them. If we split the upcoming back to back, I'd feel very good about us. We may not have Dame and them no Ayton. PHX is West's best team imo

Remember when Brooklyn had a nice and fun team that was trending upward before Kyrie had KD came along and burnt it all to the ground ? I'm sure Nets fans have fond memories of that D'lo/Dinwiddie/LeVert/Jarret Allen team

Yeah they did an admirable job in fielding a decent team after the KG/PP trade debacle…only to run it back on the same decision for Harden.

Utah and Portland and San Antonio are not going to drop significantly unless they have major injuries or intentionally Tank like the trailblazers did last season.
They are winning games like Memphis did last season by playing better consistently than other teams.
I don't mean that these teams will end up in the top of the standings but they will not become easy wins for other teams.
I don't know what the plans are for the Oklahoma City thunder but they are playing well now too and have the right to swap picks with the Lowly clippers.

Forever thank you to Brooklyn for wanting Gerald Wallace enough to trade their 2012 1st round draft pick.

Caris LeVert became my favorite NBA player during that run. (he still is)
He won me over with his pure effort, and hustle.

Chuck seems to be saying what most thought when the trade went down. Time will tell, but it certainly was my first thought.

"Charles Barkley rips Wolves for Rudy Gobert move: They got two 7-footers out there like idiots, nice trade
According to Charles Barkley, however, the Timberwolves made the wrong move by trading for Rudy Gobert. He called the Wolves “idiots” for trading for the French big man. “They got two 7-footers out there like idiots,” Barkley said recently. “Nice trade.” – via Jonathan Sherman @ ahnfiredigital.com

He added that he hated the trade when it was made over the summer for a number of reasons. “I hated that trade,” he added. “They can’t play the pick-n-roll. It would’ve been fine in our day, but they can’t guard in today’s game. They’re not dominating in the paint offensively or defensively.” – via Jonathan Sherman @ ahnfiredigital.com

Guesses as to the team and the shooter? Can't be Buddy Hield any more. Klay Thompson would be cold on the part of the Warriors...

Also, maybe Josh Richardson or McDermott on San Antonio?

I already guessed Klay earlier. I think it's not a crazy thought, especially if the Warriors are also looking to move Green, both to placate Poole and get younger.

Going to be tough for a team to give up what it would take, to match Ben's salary.

Could Simons considered a shooter?
Yes - but not a veteran yet...

I think the possibilities are (age >27, make > $15M, have somewhat of a name as a shooter):
Eric Gordon
CJ McCollum
Klay Thompson
McDermott + Richardson

That's about it.
