Probably gonna be a generational thing. Old heads have MJ, some older heads even think KAJ is the GOAT, not MJ. Maybe Doncic has a shot, but there aren’t going to be many guys who come into the league at 18-19 and dominate right away and carry that production over 20 years. Right now, he’s “putting up stats on a bad team”. If he was on a different team, he’s likely 2nd/3rd Team All NBA and he’d likely put the achievements total out of reach for anyone to catch. That’s just crazy to me. In 2012 after KD won his fourth scoring title, I thought he was going to be the all time leading scorer one day. Giannis didn’t start dominating until a few years in.

He’s going to be known as the father of the player empowerment era, and he hasn’t even messed up the most since then. KD and Kyrie F’d up an entire franchise. There’s going to be more players who think they can be like Lebron and there’s going to be even more blemishes on their careers than Lebron’s. If championships are all that matter though, I’m unlikely to convince you of anything.

And in my own head, F’ing up the Lakers gives him more points, not less

Definitely. He’s fun to watch in a street ball kind of way and can make some ridiculous shots. But, he’s not consistent, doesn’t pass like the rest of his teammates and might be one of THE worst defenders I’ve ever watched.
