there's a matinee game on. 76ers @ Nets.
early start to basketball today

Chet also plays for a much better team than the rest of those guys. He also happens to play with an all-nba guard, so he is likely to get much better opportunities than those other guys.
His situation helps but he's shooting 54/44/90 splits. That's crazy numbers.

I promise you, his roster is NOT the main reason he’s averaging those numbers. The roster matters, but how many guys can you just plop onto that OKC roster as a rookie and do what Chet is doing right now?

The Pistons were supposed to be much-improved from last season when Cade Cunningham was injured.

They still suck with Cunningham, Thompson and Ivey all healthy.

I bet Monty Williams would love to have a veteran backup PG like Brogdon.

What could we even get from them though? I don’t particularly like any of their pieces. The only guy I would want (Duren) is untouchable. They have a pick obligation until ‘27.

Stewart, filler, and multiple 2nds for Brogdon would be okay if you loved Stewart. But I think we can get a 1st+ for Brogdon.

I am not sure why they would want him when they are 2-11. I would think only a contender would want him.

first 3 games today are blowouts. Garbage time guys getting a weekend workout

Detroit is just awful. It really goes to show how a couple of whiffs on some lotto picks can drastically change the direction of the team.

Hayes (#5) is still terrible, Maxey and Haliburton are both star level guards.
Cade (#1) was the right pick but is really 4-5 seasons from leaving if they don’t figure it out soon.
Ivey (#5) remains to be seen, but obviously Shae would’ve changed the trajectory of the Pistons.
Duren (#13) was a great pick.
Ausar (#5) was a great pick.

But man…those Hayes and potentially Ivey picks are really haunting them.

The Pistons don't want to be 2-11 and didn't expect to be.

It is true that Brogdon probably wants to go to a good team. I don't know.

Yeah, I thought I added a disclaimer but I was in a rush so I didn’t I suppose. Even with what I would consider favorable circumstances, not a lot of players could take advantage of the situation as he has, which is a testament to him.

1) I would suggest it’s a major reason he is averaging those numbers. If he was on the Spurs instead of Wemby, for example, I highly doubt he would be nearly as efficient as he currently is. I also doubt you’d find many rookies drafted that highly who are 5th (realistically 4th) on the team in usg%. He would take more shots, less would be open, less would be assisted, and they would be much tougher. He would also the sole focus of the defense, not SGA.

2) As I just stated in another post, he definitely is playing really well and not a lot of rookies could take advantage of the situation as he has. I would also hardly consider him a rookie, but as the rule is currently designed, he is technically a rookie.

I think two things can be true: Chet is on an up and coming team built the right way, and, Chet is freaking awesome.

Why would you hardly consider him a rookie? This is his first year in the league lol!

He explained that with "as the rules are currently designed he is technically a rookie". I for one agree. He has been in the league a full year already and he has had access to coaching/video/trainers at the NBA level for that year. He has had the opportunity to not only watch but be coached for that time. He has an advantage no question.
That isn't taking anything away from what he is doing. There is a reason he was picked #2 and was considered for the #1 pick. Got to admit the top 10 in that draft have been pretty good.
I wonder if he had played last year if he would have done this well? It's a reasonable question but granted there is no answer.

what did he do exactly?
Not really much. Just declined the interview. I think it was the arm brush pushing her out of his way that would get the looks.
Ultimately I just don't think it would happen to Brook because she wouldn't put herself in a players way. This is more a comment on the way Brook handles herself compared to the way their player reporter tried to force him to speak.

That was their PR rep, not their sideline reporter, Brooke would never be in that situation to be honest.
