The Lakers post-Jerry Buss remind me of the Yankees post George Steinbrenner. I think now that both of those owners are gone you realize how much the organizations actually needed that drive to win from ownership and the front office in order to be successful consistently. The kids who took over for those two seem content to put on a good show, make a lot of money, and talk a lot about winning without doing much of consequence to actually get it done.

They got screwed by the league vetoing that trade for Chris Paul. They still would've been able to trade Bynum for Howard and Howard would probably still be there to play with Paul.

Thunder with another injury? Roberson shooting the free throws but visibly hurt. Now they have to foul to get him out of the game and that's freethrows for the Nets. What a mess the Thunder are.

Really? I wouldn't be worried about Thunder provided Durant is back by mid Dec. He's capable of leading them on a 15 game win streak and back into the mix. Remember two seasons ago where the Dwight Howard Lakers played awful for more than half a season? They were way below .500 and Kobe was still able to will them to the playoffs in the last 25 games.

Yeah... they have no one but Kobe, though. That's it. If Kobe for some reason gets injured, their team is no better than the D-Fenders.
