On paper, Dallas is a title contending team. They will be better than people think.
On paper they are a title contending team if you went back in time 6 years. I actually expect them to make the playoffs, but they have no chance to advance. they are too old and injury prone .

This Rockets Lakers game is a pickup game. Literally no defense being played, just chuck after chuck.

If we don't have minutes for Leonard, how would we have minutes for okafor? Speaking of which, what ever happened to Emeka Okafor?
We don't have minutes for Leonard because he doesn't deserve them. Okafor does.

How? They have one, maybe two above average NBA players and no bench.

Wow that just terrible basketball the way the Rockets and Lakers play D.

Yep. whoever wins tonight? Good for them. They will be battling for 11th spot in the west all season .

Can't root for Rockets, Will never root for Lakers, tough decision. I probably want the Lakers to win because they're worse. Tough night. LAL up by 2 in the 4th right now.

I want the Lakers to win, but I just tell myself I'm rooting against the Rockets and not for the Lakers. LOL

Harden putting up good stats and the Rockets losing = best case scenario for me...As long as the Wolves lose as well. Don't wanna go giving Chris Craig $20!

Harden put up HUGE numbers and lost to the Lakers
Westbrook put up HUGE numbers and almost lost to Philly.
Same shit different year.

I did well betting wise, got Charlotte at 1.80 and Nuggets +5.5 at 1.75 which were both inredible value but Celtics -5.5 was a massive blunder. Anthony Davis monstering again, when you look at the rest of Pelicans team you have to absolutely feel for him. He was basically forced to score 50 points while playing next to Moore, Frazier and Asik.

When I come to think of it, their only two decent players aside from Davis are Evans and Holiday, both of whom will be free agents at the end of season and will probably leave, and Pelicans are not a particularly attractive destination for free agents. If we offered them Plumlee, Leonard, Harkless, one of Crabbe/Turner and maybe even Aminu or Davis, plus a pick, for Anthony Davis, we'd still be left with a decent rotation with two players per position and they would be much, much better off than they are now, in particular considering all those players have long contracts. Imagine Anthony feckin Davis here. Imagine.

An injury prone center in portland ! Unheard of !

We would be able to rest him for 82 games and then unleash him in the playoffs though. Even without him the rotation would be good enough for 5th or 6th seed, even if we just release 4 players.

Just kidding though, he's as untradeable as it gets.

Disturbing (and ridiculous) Tweet:

I almost feel bad for them having pressure put on them after just one game. Almost.

LOL, let them be delusional. Let them think they are better than they are.

They beat a team that shot 24% from 3-point range and plays ZERO defense. I've seen all star games with better defense.

Wait until they start playing teams that actually give a fuck about defense. Showtime my ass. They'll struggle to break 90.

Wow

50 15 5 ast 7 stl 4 blk 16-17 FT

We officially have our MVP front runner.

Craziest part to me is he has put up stat lines like this many times before, but they never cease to make my jaw drop.

You want to hear something even crazier?

In spite of that monster stat line from Anthony Davis, after 1 game. Damian Lillard has a higher PER (44.8) than Anthony Davis (42.7).

That's how incredibly efficient Dame was against UTA.

Oh yeah, and Lillard's team won. Davis' did not.

MVP! MVP!!

New Orleans needs to trade those guys at the deadline for 1st round picks. Go into the offseason with 3 first round picks and cap space.

Would you guys trade Meyers and a late 1st for Holiday or Evans? That would give us an amazing bench.

Holiday no, because Turner is great as back up PG IMO. Evans maybe, to play at small forward, but we would not have minutes for him unless we move Crabbe or Harkless.

Turner is better at SF than PG.. And Holiday can play the 1 or 2, and he's a good defender and a very underrated player. It's all interchangeable though.

Lillard (35) / Holiday (13)
McCollum (33) / Holiday (9) / Crabbe (6)
Harkless (12) / Turner (20) / Crabbe (16)
Aminu(20) / Vonleh(16) / Davis (7) / Moe(5)
Plumlee (20) / Ezeli (17) / Davis (11)

Starters:
Lillard - 35
McCollum - 33
Harkless - 17
Aminu - 20
Plumlee - 20

Bench:
Holiday - 22
Crabbe - 22
Turner - 20
Davis - 18
Ezeli - 17
Vonleh - 16

That's enough minutes for everybody.

Holiday, Crabbe, Turner, Davis, Ezeli, Vonleh, and Napier would be a fringe playoff contender. As a bench though? Lethal

Yeah. Davis deserves a real team around him for once. New Orleans better not fuck around and make him want to leave.

I have not watched Jrue lately. I know he has had injury issues, but I liked him in Philly.
No on Evans since we have ET
