Damn, Childress fucked him up. That was unexpected, even knowing he threw an elbow.

Watching Spurs-Rockets and there are a total of 3 Americans on the floor: Terry, Dorsey and Harden.

(The rest are: Papanikolaou, Motiejunas, Parker, Ginobili, Diaw, Baynes and Bellinelli.)

Now Beverley's in, who, like Dorsey, started his professional career in Europe.

Nobody watching this Houston game can ever complain about Mike and Mike legitimately. These guys are abysmal.

Maybe Steve Nash can make a country album.

I just don't get it with Papanikolaou.

I watched several of his games when we got his rights and he can hoop. He has to learn the NBA game just like Freeland did

The better the look over there the worse it is when they don't look good here. Either they translate, or you see that they can. Or they shoot 18% and turn the ball over 5 times a game....

You know SERGIO?!

So, would it be fair to say he needs to learn the game, then post up?

Yeah, he's shooting like crap at the moment. But notice he's getting a TON of minutes. McHale likes him even if you don't.

(Ariza should get the bulk of SF minutes in the regular season, but clearly KP is going to play. Got to justify the big salary Morey gave him.)

Damn that's probably his career then. Hate to see him go out on injuries as a Laker. Maybe we can omit that part of his career...

Am I right in remembering that Nash has played only half a game since Dame's been in the league? Or did he come back at all from the knee injury before ruining his back?

EDIT: the article says he came back, but then got a hip injury.

Given what we have seen from McHale as a coach that's not the endorsement you make it sound like...

I watched a bit - and he will be a fine NBA player within a year or so.

No kidding. I have nothing against an announcer having a rooting interest in the team that writes their checks and the players they travel with, but at least clean the homer glasses enough to be able to see what is in front of you and on film, and not what you want to believe happened.

The Houston announcers fucking suck, and that includes Drexler.

The Clippers announcers by contrast seemed to have no trouble calling a spade a spade.

if you listen to the talk right after the Finals, he was targeted by many nationally to be the guy who "makes the leap" and would be a Top 5 MVP vote-getter.

I just don't see it. I really see him as the typical SA system player. Throw him on a team where he would see constant double teams and focused defensive pressure, and there is no way he'd be as effective.

But then again, in an era when Hayward and Parsons are getting 15 mil deals, Leonard prolly should get around the same.

Exactly my thoughts. He's great on the Spurs but would be another "B Level" player on any other team.

I think Leonard is probably the best option to replace Batum.

Don't forget he's only 23 years old and going into his 4th season. His stats have gone up every year. I think Kawhi is close to the best sf (not named Lebron or durant) in the NBA already, something he might be by the end of this year.

He's a great tertiary player, and would maybe be a good secondary player. But the Spurs will get far more out of him than any other team will, and the Spurs aren't going to let him go. So, he's about as available as LBJ.
